Well the reasoning would be that a human life is worth almost anything needed to sustain it while the life of a non sentient creature is worth less.

Why is color "peach" a light, orangey pink color, when it isn't even the color of peaches? Aren't most peaches orange, red, and magenta…?

Do we even know what our voices sound like? Because for us, it sounds different than how it would sound in a recording, but even recordings aren't that accurate. So how are we supposed to know what we sound like if we can't speak to ourselves face to face!??!

Do colorblind people even know they are colorblind at first? Because the way they see colors, wouldn't they just hear that the color that actually looks like blue to them is red, so they would know that that is red, despite them seeing it as blue? And they would hear that the sky is blue, but for them the sky was a constant grey, so they just thought that the color blue was actually grey?

And couldn't we, by the same reasoning, be all seeing different colors without ever knowing it?

IKR!?! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN THINKING! Like, what we see and hear, could be completely different to everyone else, but we just think them the same because that's how we associate them.

theory: even if we could describe color it wouldn't do much
bc i see blue as very calming,, but if someone sees it as not blue, (like maybe,, yellow or something) but they DO think it's calming, then we have achieved nothing

so in the back of my bible, there is a measurement table that compares today's measurements and biblical times. So there is one that is called "bath" and it amounts to like 4-8 gallons. Does this mean we got the name of bathtub from biblical measurements?
