"That wasn't very nice, you know." Kali mock chided as Eros passed, her book open on the table.

"I'm not very nice," he replied.

"Mm, obviously." She shook her head, the feathers in her hair catching the light as she laughed. "So, out and about in the mortal realm today?"

Eros shrugged. "Well, Olympus is boring, and I have a hotel room in the Underworld."

Kali clicked her tongue, making a 'tchk' noise. "Being immortal must give you an endless amount of free time."

"Well, it gets so booring after a while, you have no idea," he said with an eye roll.

"Sadly, I will eventually." She took another drink from her coffee, wrinkling her nose. "What all do you do to keep from getting too bored?"

"Well, I like to find different places to go to," he said, leaning back. "I've been to Antarctica twice now."

"Antarctica?" She blinked, her curiosity piqued. "What's that like?"

Eros shrugged. "Cold." He remembered the biting wind, the snow, the bright sun on ice, and shuddered slightly.

Kali huffed, a slight pout playing on her lips. "There goes that. I might just go traverse the Sahara or something."

Eros laughed. "Well, that place is hot, and the Sand Guardian is a grouch."

"Guardian of the sand." Kali muttered, suddenly developing an Irish accent. And then she was back to normal. "I like the sun. Never had too much issue with heat, either."

"Well, then we are most certainly not alike," Eros said with a shudder. "Though maybe I just don't like it because of the Guardian."

"I believe our differences might have already been established." Kali said with a small laugh, referring to the barista.

Eros grinned. "What, you don't randomly flirt with anyone you meet?"

"I flirt occasionally." Kali said, blinking innocently as she tilted her head. "But not ever to the extent you do."

"Well, I am the love god," he smirked.

She raised a pink eyebrow, a slight disbelieving look to her face. "That isn't quite what I meant, Eros."

"Isn't it?" He asked, a bored look on his face. He stood. "Well, nice seeing you again."

"Actually, I was going to ask what you're doing today." She said, looking back down at her book. "But I assume you have better things to do."

"If you count sitting around being bored out of my mind something better to do then yes, I do."

"Fabulous." Kali grinned, although it seemed a bit sharp. "Care to accompany me? I've got just the thing to cure your boredom, temporarily."

Eros raised an eyebrow. "Alright, then." He followed her out, hands in his pockets, humming.

Kali read as she walked, never once needing to look up. She knew these streets well enough to walk them with her eyes closed.

Eros winked at a passing teenage girl and she giggled. He grinned. He never stopped to wonder why he was so irresistible, but if one day he wasn't, well, he would probably hide himself in a cave for all eternity.

"The god of love, good looking? Whoda thunk it?" Kali muttered to herself, flipping the book shut and tucking it in her purse.
