welcome to the debate chat.
we debate stuff
Oh wow. Thank you for that informative explanation. ;)
lol it's kind of hard to sum up 93 pages of debating
Nah it's all good haha
Sometimes people get really angry. It's interesting.
But I don't mind at all.
Hmm, what was perhaps the topic/debate that caused the most… drama?
Abortion and views on Lgbt.
Those two are the biggest. Though the place of gov comes up as well more than a few times.
Ahh I can see how… interesting.
religion is kinda heated too
Heated is right. Many people get emotional.
Mmm, but how do you even argue about that type of thing respectfully? Or do you just not?
But go ahead and say something at least somewhat controversial if you feel up to it. Just not abortion. That one is off the table for a bit.

Some do some don't.
But I think everyone tries.
I try to keep it civil, but I've realized that my bar for tolerance of 'awful things people say to each other' is pretty high, so others kinda have to remind me sometimes.
I'll give a topic, but I don't really have a side if that's ok?
A lot of people are neutral about things. Which is actually pretty cool.
go for it
Ok. breathes anxiously
What about the topic of the right to die. Like, should people have the right to commit suicide?
It all depends. If there is no God then of course. If there is, then perhaps not.
Hm, elaborate.
Interesting topic!
I think people should have to right to choose what they wish with their body. We have the right to do everything else (tattoos, piercings, who we sleep with, eat, sleep, drugs etc.) So why not this?

This is only if a deity actually cares if you suicide or no.
So if there is no deity (who cares) that has authority over our bodies Eris's argument holds well.
But what if the suicide is just influenced, by, say, environment. Let's put you in a scenario where many people you know have committed suicide. You're not actually sad - in fact, life isn't that bad for you. On a whim, though, you feel sad and depressed, and suddenly decide to commit suicide; your parents, family, friends can't convince you otherwise, even when you had a very bright future coming for you. You still have the right to take your life and hurt everyone around you?
okay interesting thought though, I do still think that is should be considered a 'crime' (just an nonpunishable one) that way police and EMT services can still try and save the person because right now the only way they can enter a premises without a warrant is if they are under the impression and have due cause to think that a crime is being committed. People get saved every day because of this, and live to regret their decision and move on with a happy life because they were saved.
Interesting take. I approve what you mean.

It's your life. You should be able to choose. People do things everyday that hurt people, with zero care in the world (rough I know but it's true) we shouldn't live in constant fear that our actions could possibly hurt someone's feelings, because that could be anything
