The viscount giggled under his breath.
“Right…not that obvious as in you were about to burn that woman’s neck…right…”
The viscount giggled under his breath.
“Right…not that obvious as in you were about to burn that woman’s neck…right…”
"Isn't that something an ice mage would do?" She asked with a small laugh.
“With frostbite, maybe” the viscount added.
Adara shrugged. Her eyes widened suddenly and she turned to Tolkalee. "Where're the others?"
Tolkalee rolled his eye again, he wasn't really big on jokes. Not the ones these people had. He joked around with his buddies in the army all the time, but those jokes would be wasted on these people. They knew how to fight and some were incredibly powerful, others had been in countless fights for their lives. But he didn't know how many knew what warfare looked like. And if none of them did then any of his joking around would roll off these people like water on a duck's back. "They're back in the other room."
Adara started towards the room where the others were. She wondered if Aisen and Jon had woken up yet.
The group of Knights who separated from Jonathan and Hinata walked in the same hall as Adara. Their expressions were shocked to say the least when they saw Adara.
“Wait wait wait wait…” Cronos wiped his eyes.
"What?" She asked, her eyes alight with confusion. She looked around. "Where's Aisen?"
Cronos, Matthew and Chris looked at each other.
“Uh…well…” Chris nervously scratched his arm.
Cronos stepped up and grabbed Adara’s shoulder. “I won’t say that this is true… but his body was missing from the room and his ability artifact was on the floor where he was… and you should know what that means…” he explained.
"WHAT?" She exploded. "What happened?" Fire was starting to lick up the walls and along the floors.
Cronos turned to the other Knights.
“You guys go on ahead” he told them as they nodded and ran ahead.
“And you, follow me…” Cronos said, running back towards the room.
"Is there any way that he might have lost the ability artifact without having died?" Tolkalee asked walking up. He was unfazed by Adara's fire.
The flames were moving faster than ever, towards any moving thing. They were red and white and light blue, and even being near them made things burst into flames as well. Adara stood in the middle of the flames, face vacant.
Cronos turned back to Tolkalee while still running.
“There is but only some people can do that and by that I mean the Viscounts or the Marquesses, though the blood on the floor didn’t suggest that thought at all” he pointed out.
They arrived at the room.
"Are you sure it was his?" Tolkalee kept with him?
“Well…no one else in the Labyrinth has Duality as their ability…” Cronos pointed to the cloth he used to hide the blood and the texts on the wall.
"Not the orb, the blood," Tolkalee snapped annoyed at having to clarify what he was talking about every few minutes. "Are you sure the blood was his."
“That I don’t know…” Cronos said in an apologetic tone.
"Because there was another person that was injured and she's currently about to blow the place up…" Tolkalee went quiet. "Give me just a moment." He ran out of the room back towards Adara, getting as close as he could and calling out to her, hoping she would hear him.
Cronos heard a bang on one of the lockers at the back of the room. The knocking didn’t stop but got weaker with every knock. He hesitated on whether or not he should open the locker.
Adara turned her head slightly. Her eyes were glowing so brightly it was as though they were two small suns.
"Adara stop!" Tolkalee called. "You need to stop now! There's still the chance that he's alive!"
Adara collapsed to her hands and knees as her energy drained away. The fire flickered and vanished, and she collapsed.
Tolkalee ran forward as soon as the fire was gone. He caught Adara's shoulders, and went down with her. "There's the chance that he's still alive," he managed after a moment. He had a huge amount of adrenaline pumping through him. "We have to remember that he might still be alive."
"O-okay," she said. Speaking alone took up energy, and she couldn't open her eyes. She had never used fire like that before, and whatever that woman had done to her took the energy from her as well.
Cronos walked up to the locker and decided to open it. A body fell out of the locker.
“Luna?!” Cronos jumped when he saw the female figure come out.
“Took you…long enough…” she grunted. Her body disintegrated into an artifact that reads Celestial Chariot.
Tolkalee held on to her shoulders tightly, reassuring himself and her that they were alive.
A man in a royal suit walked into the room. Cronos turned to see him and knelt down.
“Greeting Lord Grayson” Cronos exclaimed in a slightly shaking voice.
“Too slow Cronos…” the figure said in a disappointed voice and Cronos fell to the ground, impaled with two gray needles through his heart. Cronos screamed in pain and curled up, grabbing his head and tried to cease the pain.
The royal figure opened up the gray umbrella he had. “I’m genuinely disappointed Time Master…” he looked down at Cronos while standing beside him.
Tolkalee looked back hearing the scream. He picked up Adara and moved to the side of the room. Then he jumped up and ran back towards the sound.
Cronos’ body was curled up with gray needles through every part of his body. His cry was louder than earlier and he was in pain; both physically and mentally it seems. The royal figure was still holding his opened umbrella and looked down at Cronos, not knowing of Tolkalee’s presence just yet.
