I watched the two girl who were awkwardly talking beside me. I really wanted to talk to them, to introduce myself. I took a deep breath and plucked up my courage. "Hey! This is my first convention and I was wondering if you guys could maybe help me. It's a little overwhelming."

(Alright.)

"The bench? You mean, that one on the side with that girl (Iris)? I guess…" I followed Hope over to the bench.

I let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank goodness. Someone else who doesn't know what they're doing." I nodded and ushered to the bench. "Please. Join us. We were going over there."

I smiled. "Thanks!" I followed the girls over to the bench.

Looking up, I noticed a small group of three chatting nearby. They didn't seem like a bad group, but…
I'm so awkward…!
I glanced back down at the pamphlet. And this was supposed to be a convention to make new friends. Why do I feel out of place still…?

"So, what's your name?" I asked the newcomer who was following us. "I'm Adalie. This is… Hope."

"Yeah, no problem. It's always nice to meet other writers. This is my second one but each one is different so we'll have to see." I said thoughtfully.

Adalie pulled me out of my thoughts. "Yeah I'm Hope. Nice to meet you."

I walked towards a bench, not sure where else to go. There were a bunch of girls standing there and talking. I attempted to ignore them, I didn't want to intrude on anything.

I'm Ali." I said to Iris.

I looked at her. "Huh, well maybe she wants to join us. Give me 60 seconds." I winked at them, grinning.

"Smooth Moves. Ya beat me to it. I'm Hope."

Looking up, the girls, Ali and Hope, had introduced themselves.
"Iris," I said awkwardly.

"So you guys want to explore?" I asked, getting up and running forward, but still looking back-
And then I realized I had smashed into a girl (Charlie).
For the second time.
"Sorry, sorry, sorry!" I apologize over and over, cheeks getting red.

I rushed over to Hope. "You okay, there?"

I swiveled aroudn to look at the person who had crashed into me. It was one of the girls from the group of people. I gave her a smile. "I've found it helps to look where you're going," I joked. "Don't worry about it,"

"Thanks. I've been crashing into lots of things today." I gestured towards Hope, and the door I crashed into earlier.

I looked at the girl. She was awful pretty. "I'm Ali." I said.

"I'm fine." I waved at the girl who Adalie was talking to when she gestured to me.
