Wila jumped a bit at their new arrival "ah yes, we should. How late are we?" She ask, trying to find an excuse
Tam looked over at Wila— it didn't seem like she had the intention to tell Beaux what they knew.
"You're right, let's get going," he advised.
He walked out of the room first.
Westan sat in a cell, his knees curled up to his chest. He cried softly, singing too. His brown hair was stringy and mousy, his eyes shining dully with tears. His voice sounded husky, which most women would have found unduly attractive, but it caused him pain. His once beautiful voice was now reduced to a shell of what it once was.
Curled up on the opposite side of the cell, Finn was caught between being asleep or awake. Westan's quiet singing was familiar and all he had for comfort.
"Are you okay?" he breathed, knowing full well how useless the question was.
"No. No, no no." Westan replied.
"Right." Finn crawled over to Westan, squinting through the dark. "Can I do anything?" he asked quietly, sitting at arm's length from Westan, cross-legged.
"Is it weird if you hug me?" Westan held out his arms.
Finn blushed and smiled. "Who cares if it is?" He scooted closer to Westan and wrapped his arms tightly around his cellmate. Though they'd been stuck in the cell for a good week, there was a certain underlying sweetness to Westan's smell, distinguishable through the constant reek of sweat and blood. He didn't let go before a handful of seconds, savouring the one human connection he could have in this place.
Westan sighed and laid his head on Finn's shoulder. "Thank you," he said softly.
"Of course." He slowly pulled away from Westan. "Any better?" he asked softly.
Westan took a deep breath. "Yes. Much better."
"Good to hear," he smiled, reverting to his cross-legged position. "Now we wait, I guess."
Beaux had a gut feeling something was going on, but decided to play along and act clueless. "Where is everyone else?" Beaux skipped up next to the others and asked in a sing some voice. "Are we the only performers tonight?"
Tam nodded. "I believe so." He led the way to the training room where Naomi was waiting, sat in the middle of the floor. She looked up when the three entered, and stood up.
Wila frowned, hating to lie to her friend but didn't feel like spreading around the terrible news until she had a concrete plan on what to do. For now, all she could do was the only positive thing that Harrow evert aught them, keep up a good act, so good that no one will question who you're not.
Naomi beckoned to the three and had them line up in front of her. "You're late," she said coolly, staring pointedly at Wila.
Tam spoke up. "I overslept, it's my fault," he said swiftly.
She silently thanked Tam with a nod "sorry ma'am…something came up in the forest and the trees spoke of weirdness roaming the earth. Do you know how freaking hard to get them to shut up?" She rambled hoping this would mask her worriedness "They just won't shush! and don't even get me started with the plants! ugh little psky things!
Naomi walked up to Wila and smothered her ramble with a hand over the girl's mouth. "You've said enough," she spat. "Get to your hoops, now."
She pushed Wila backwards and turned on Beaux. "Do what you have to do, you," she said lazily with a dismissive flick of her hand.
"You?" Beaux glared for a moment, she then sighed a shrugged. No use getting into a fight right now. There were more pressing issues and questions to worry about. Beaux looked over at Tam and Willa, whatever they were not telling her, she was going to find out. And for some reason Naomi treats her differently than everyone else, or at least that's what it seems like.
Naomi grabbed Beaux by the shoulder and turned her around. "Problem, honey?" she questioned sharply. An unreadable emotion blazed behind her eyes and she fought to keep it under control.
Beaux kept an emotionless experience on her face. There was no need for her to show anything. "No." Was all she said before cartwheeling away. She wanted nothing to do with this circus, and she was going to find a way out, with or without anyone.
Naomi stood still, watching the girl head away from her.
Before she could turn around Tam had already run off, just finishing a series of movements up on the ropes. She had nothing to do, and so sat.
ANNOUNCEMENT (that was extra but there you go)
We've got a new member, one of the rpers that was part of the original thread!
@PuffPoff , welcome :)
They'll be taking over Finn's character
(Oh hey! Let me get the character template real quick)
Westan took a deep breath. "Yes. Much better."
"Good to hear," he smiled, reverting to his cross-legged position. "Now we wait, I guess."
This is where Finn left off
(Here's some quick stuff to know about Finn:
Name: Finn Pomatter
Age: 15
Looks: Cropped black hair, dark blue eyes, thin frame and taller than average, scars along his back and legs
Personality: Unbroken and hopeful, optimistic, and only fierce when he needs to defend someone. He always feels like it's his job to cheer people up when they're feeling down, and doesn't like to see people unhappy.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Optimistic and physically flexible/limp, strange twitches, and he keeps his negative emotions hidden inside
Background: When Finn was eleven, he was travelling with his nomadic family. When he left to scout the area they had planned to stay at for the night, the sound of a wolf howling frightened him and he ran off in what he thought was the direction his parents were. After wandering for what felt like forever, he finally found someone that he hoped could lead him back to his family. (The rest will be revealed later…)
Shipping: Sure
Sexuality: Pansexual)
Tam jumped down from the ropes, landing neatly next to Beaux. "You alright?" he asked her. "I saw Naomi made a grab for you."
Harrow studied Aza a moment. Pulling out a thin steel card, he swiped a slot by the door and it popped open with a quiet hiss.
He walked into the cell, sliding the card back into a zipped pocket inside the lab coat he wore.
He approached the cot, keeping his face expressionless.
(sorry that was a bit of a dead end)
"So, Aza," Harrow started, hands behind his back. "Have you got any questions, any thing you'd like to say?"
He payed attention for her reaction, studying how she held herself even tied down. He expected he could get a weakness out of her somehow.
"Yeah…" Beaux couldn't put her finger on it, but there was something weird about Naomi. "Do you know how she came to work here?" She watched Naomi from afar, making sure she wouldn't notice.
Tam carefully followed Beaux's gaze to Naomi, still seated and quiet. "I don't know any details. I think she knew Harrow before coming here though," Tam murmured, racking his brains for any fact. "Why do you ask?"
"Hm… no reason." Beaux turned to Tam and gave him a smile. "I'm just curious." She did a back bend, but made sure to keep her eyes on Naomi.

"Things I want to say?" Aza spat, extremely angry now. "You have no idea. But I'll keep my mouth shut, I think. I'll spare you, Harrow."
