Mathis nodded. "Is it so wrong for me to want company other than my servants who, I'm pretty sure, are scared to the bones of me." He snorted.

Kai smiled and relaxed "no your grace, but they are afraid that they may be forced to leave if they offend you." He replied and walked closer. Setting his helmet down on a table.

The Prince laughed. "They won't offend me, and even if they do, I won't send them away. Just because I'm a prince doesn't mean I'm cruel." He said. "You're welcome to sit. Do you want something to drink?"

"It would be welcome m'lord. What do you have?" He asked, sitting at a nearby seat. Kai looked around the well furnished room in mild astonishment. He had expected it to be luxurious but this was well out of his expectations.

"Everything." Matgis answered honestly. "And if you want something else I can ring a servant to get it for you." He looked at the handsome gaurd sitting across from him.

Kai smirked "water then." He sighed "The lord commander has forbidden we drink. Anyone solider in training who does, will not be able to say their vows." He said

"I won't tell if you decide to indulge just this once. No one has to know." Mathis gave him a wink, grinning from ear to ear. He poured himself just a glass of red wine.

Kai couldn't help himself and barked out a laugh "who knew the Crown prince of [Place] had a rebellious soul!" He laughed

The Prince returned his laugh. "I'm a rebellious teenager at heart. Unfortunately, I've been born into this life so I cannot act upon it, at least not openly." He said with a half smile.

"Well, you are looking at a person who was disowned by his birth parents for refusing to marry a young lady." Kai said, a bitter smile on his face "tha fully the lord commander felt sympathy for me and allowed me to join the knighthood"

"Well, they can go fuck themselves. No one should be forced to marry. Except me apparently. My father refuses to pass the crown to me until I marry some rich girl or princess or whoever else of their chosing."

Kai laughed "rules of marriage shouldnt be different for common men and noblemen. " kai said and stood up, walking towards the window

"I'm a prince, I must have a queen and an heir. I don't have a choice in the matter." Mathis followed the gaurd with his eyes, watching him.

"And adopting a child is not an answer am I right my prince?" He asked, staring g outside at a group of young children playing

Mathis snorted. "No. My hair must be of my own flesh and blood, a legitimate child, or else distamr family members and whatnot may try and lay their claim on my throne. Perhaps if one of my sisters has a boy, I suppose he could take the throne. But it is my father's wishes that I have a wife and my one heir."

"Well why dont you? Aren't you a suitable husband for the Lady's?" He grinned still looking out the window. "Have you ever held a child?" He asked, finally looking up at the prince, a small smile forming

Mathis took a long gulp of his wine. "Maybe because I don't feel an attraction towards them. I prefer someone of….my own sex. Not that father knows. I'm sure he would have a heart attack if he ever found out. Or deny me the throne. Best to keep that from him."

"The crown prince, holding a secret this big? Why tell it to a measly knight in training?" Kai asked loking at him with a confused expression

"Because right now I fancy you." The Prince tokd truthfully. He took a sip from his glass. "Have you ever lain with a man before?"

Kai shrugged "I've lain with many in my lifetime, I have my whole life ahead of me to decide whom I Fancy my prince." He replied, looking away from him

Mathis raosed an eyebrow. "Oh? And who to you fancy then?" He raised from his seat, refilling his wine glass.

"Lords, ladies, anyone who is willing g to satisfy my needs for as long as I require." He frowned "but why would my prince want to lay with someone such as my self? I am not someone who plays with just anyone my lord." He said, a slow smirk making it's way onto his face

Mathis smirked, taking in his body. "Have you looked in a mirror recently? How could I not want you?" He asled as if it was the most obvious answer.

"Ah yes, the hard labour of a knights teaning does that to a man." He said sarcastically, dramatically falling I to a chair

The Prince chuckled. "Yes I suppose it does." He said. He took his seat once more. "Have you ever had a prince as your lover before?"

Kai looked at him pointedly before replying in a sarcastic voice "why yes, there was the younger prince of Vlanca, the cousin of the king in the west, and the crown prince of the south. I have been with many princes." He looked at Mathias with a sly smile "might I wonder how many my prince has lain with?"

Mathis returned the smile. "None. I prefer my lovers such as yourself, or perhaps the kitchen boy, or maybe a scribe. I knpw how princes are, I am one. I don't want to lie with one."

Kai threw his head back and let out a laugh "I see my prince has a very specific standard."

"I know what I want when I want. And I want you." Mathis said simply as he took another sip of his wine.
