Umbridge
Wait hold on I read that wrong lmao. I though it was worst-written characters, not worst character written. Whoopsies.
Meh it's either/or. I just wanted to say Umbridge.
I mean, Umbridge was a really nasty character though so you're not wrong.

Same. Can I say that Bella was one of the worst? (I haven't read it but a passive protag!)

Honestly yeah, I have to agree with you there. Her personality is akin to that of a piece of cardboard.
Honestly who has the thought process
'Oh, Edward left me! I'll jump off a fucking cliff into the ocean to get him to come back! That won't backfire at all!'
I feel like part of why Umbridge is such a good villain is that a majority of people won't come face-to-face with an evil dictator irl. We will, however, have terrible and cruel bosses, coworkers, and just random people we encounter.
Also, Harry Potter is Middle Grade/YA, and almost every single kid has had a teacher who would punish the class for no reason, or have an irrational hate for you or a friend, or be so irritatingly fake nice that we know what an Umbridge is, we've dealt with them, but we haven't dealt with a Voldemort in anything but books and movies.
Voldemort is a threat that's too out of reach to be truly frightening, but Umbridge is someone we meet daily.
Exactly.
Pardon my not knowing, what's Umbridge from?
Harry Potter
Fine, tired. I have eight hour rehearsal today.
^^^^^ Um what??
Let's see, characters that I think are poorly written…. actually I'm not really a fan of Jude & Taryn from Cruel Prince. I think they are kind of bland.
What about most bland character from a series?
Like who's the most bland from HP? That's a hard one I know.
Dear internet: Nancy Drew isn't a Mary Sue.
She's a Mary Sleuth.
It's a basic unfunny pun, not that hard to remember-
Like who's the most bland from HP? That's a hard one I know.
Dean Thomas.
Literally any of the death eaters.
Cornelius Fudge.
Why Fudge? (Out of curiosity.)
His constant denial of anything wrong was so infuriatingly toxic and just the way he handled things by not handling them was so bland and one dimensional.
Eh. I've heard the same kind of arguing for Javert killing himself. I think it's realistic. Humans are dumb.
But Javert had such a deep inner turmoil!!
Same. It made a lot of sense to me. His world was destroyed. Everything he believed in was taken from him.
It was either change everything or self destruct.
And Cosette was the most bland of all the people in Les Miz.
You just don't like her because you stan Eponine. :P
marius can be a little bland though
First off. Eponine is my heart. Second. That doesn't negate my statement.
You have a point. But not as much as Cosette.
I feel like most secondary/minor characters in media aren't developed that much and the reason why people love them is headcanons and personal interpretation.
Inigo is one of the best secondary characters ever and you can't change my mind.
