Tolkalee was doing his best to create a path that they could travel through. Soon they noticed that the snow was visibly lower. As in down to their knees instead of their waists.
Tolkalee was doing his best to create a path that they could travel through. Soon they noticed that the snow was visibly lower. As in down to their knees instead of their waists.
“Finally it’s getting easier” she said with relief
Tolkalee looked back and smiled. "Agreed." Seth suddenly looked back and froze.
She turned to “what?”
Over the hill behind them came a rapid steady movement. Seth was backing up slowly. Tolkalee grabbed Kat's hand and began pulling her back. "Run!" Seth turned and began sprinting through the snow. Tolkalee pulled Kat with him as he began running as well. The scorpion herd had caught up.
She started to run as well the adrenaline saved her from the pain but her vision started to turn red
Amana sighed. "We'd better help."
She spoke hurriedly “is there anything they are especially weak to”
Seth had taken the lead but suddenly came to a screeching halt. In front of him was a huge glacier. Tolkalee stopped and pulled out his bow. Drawing back an arrow that had a rope tied to it. Letting it fly, he turned and began firing at the scorpions. Seth pulled the rope tight. He grabbed Kat and righted the rope around her. "We're gonna jump, okay?"
“That’s fine” she sounded a bit worried
"Tolk let's go," Seth called, taking hold of the rope. Tolkalee ran back to them and grabbed the rope, instead of stopping though he just ran over the cliff taking everyone with him.
She got down fast but definitely not carefully he murmured to herself “shit, shit”
Tolkalee dropped off the rope followed by Seth. Seth then turned to help Kat down.
“I’ll be fine”she climbed down some more “I’ve done this before”
Seth backed up to let her down. Then he looked up, none of the scorpions had followed and none were likely to. Thankfully.
She slowed down and sighed “that was close”
"Way to close," Seth commented, he looked at Tolkalee. "How did they get that close?"
Tolkalee shrugged. "I've no idea. They must have started earlier in the morning than we had anticipated. Though it looks like they went around the cabin, they would have taken much longer if they had."
“ could they be targeting something in this direction?”
(Bump)
"Probably us," Seth commented nodding his head in agreement. "Thing is they've never targeted anything before. They just wander around aimlessly destroying things in their path."
“Anyway it’s good thing that we left early.”
"Yeah, things could have gone badly had we left any later," Tolkalee sighed. He then shifted his backpack so it was more comfortable. "Let's keep moving."
She kept climbing down but more carefully this time
Tolkalee went to scout ahead while Seth waited for Kat to get down fully.
She stepped shown onto the ground and let out a sigh of releif
"Not a fan of heights?" Seth asked looking at her.
“I am fine with them, just happy to be farther away from those monsters”
"I understand that feeling," Seth scoffed. "I've had run ins with those before. They are horrible."
“We should go we don’t want them to catch up”
"Yeah let's go," Seth let her take the lead began following after Tolkalee, who had gone ahead to scout.
