Tolkalee sighed. "Again, tell him to get in line, because I have someone on the top of the list that might actually succeed. I honestly probably should see him as a threat because I've learned by now that you all have extreme power hidden up your sleeves. But he is less threatening then the person on the top of my list."
Cronos giggled a little. “Well if he’s at the top, he’s gotta be stronger than most of us that’s for sure…” he stopped, hearing footsteps coming from behind Tolkalee.
Tolkalee looked over his shoulder, turned and stepped back so that he was standing next to the other knights. "It's a she actually, and as I have seen thus far, yeah she is." He peered into the darkness of the hall trying to ID the owner of the footsteps.
Aisen recognized the figure. He stepped up and smacked the figure’s head. “What did I tell you about not coming out at times like this?!” He scolded the figure. The figure looked up, revealing that he looked more like a kid than anything.
Tolkalee looked at Aisen. "Friend of yours?"
Aisen sighed. “Not exactly a friend. This is Jonathan Clove, the next Knight A after my time…he’ll be active in about 3 months from now” he patted the new figure’s head as the figure was short compared to Aisen.
The figure bowed to Cronos and Tolkalee, not knowing who they are.
"Nice to meet you kid, you can call me Tolkalee," Tolkalee said. He turned to Cronos. "So what do you suggest for the next move?"
Cronos smiled at the kid. “It might be better if we find Chris and Matthew first. Cassius can come later as his aura is still active and moving around” Cronos answered as he walked down the hall, following him was Aisen and the next Knight A, Jonathan.
Tolkalee followed behind. He was limping slightly, mostly hidden by him. He was thinking about the person whom he said was at the top of his list, and his hand went up to rub his chest just above his heart. A scar was there, one that held a bad memory.
Aisen noticed Tolkalee’s actions. “It’s okay if you’re tired. You can rest here, we’ll be fine on our own”
"Not tired," he sighed. "Just not looking forward to the day I have to take on the person at the top of my list. Cause I know it's coming, and she does to. We've clashed before and both times were very one sided fights. Not on my side however." He let his hand down to his side.
Aisen smiled slightly. “Well, do you need assistance? ‘Cause I’m more than willing to help”
"I might take you up on that offer, but I don't know if she will allow it," Tolk gave a half smile. "She has powerful magic and both times we fought she boxed us in and locked everyone else out. Seth told me the first time we clashed that he'd never watched something so painful. That's where I got this scar," he didn't show them the scar but he pointed to where it was. Just above his heart.
Aisen ruefully sighed. “That’s a shame. I was looking forward for a good fight with someone extremely powerful who’s not a Knight, oh well” he continued to follow Cronos.
The young figure walked closer to Tolkalee. “Hello Sir……you seem to be good friends with my trainer……” he cowardly whispered to Tolkalee. He seemed to be very shy.
Tolkalee smiled at him. "You could say that I guess," he replied. "So, you're Jonathan, right?"
(Tolk has a soft spot for kids, just so you know.)
Jonathan nodded and held onto Tolkalee’s sleeve.
(So that’s means if Jonathan gets hurt, Tolkalee will be hella mad…right?)
(That's an understatement)
Tolkalee smiled. "You know, back when I was a kid, my sister and I had code names for each other. And we would only use them if we were in danger, or scared."
Jonathan shivered slightly when Tolkalee said that. He understood that he might be in danger if he was given a codename…and yes, he was given one. Aisen turned back to Tolkalee and Jonathan. “Oh right I forgot to mention, Jonathan’s ability is Engine Overheat. Strong, sure, but it’s one ability that can’t stay in the battlefield for long” Aisen brought up.
Tolkalee nodded in understanding. "My name was used the most because I was always jumping in to help my sister. She's blind so she wasn't able to do much on her own."
Jonathan sighed in slight relief. He shifted a little closer to Tolkalee as he was afraid of the dark.
Aisen turned to a door. “There’s something off about this room…” he claimed. Cronos turned and looked at the door as well. “A Knight’s aura…?” He said, walking closer to open the door.
"Wait," Tolkalee called to him quietly. "You don't know what's on the other side of that door. Therefore, walking in blindly would be a stupid thing to do."
Cronos stopped. “True…” he retracted his hand away from the doorknob.
"That being said, you could always stop time, walk in see what's in there, come out, and tell us what you find," Tolkalee said after thinking for a moment.
Cronos cleared his throat. He pointed to the bullet wound the gunner made. “Remember…?”
Tolkalee frowned. "My bad I thought that would have healed by now. Well, we could knock, or I could try and see what's in there. Keeping time stopped while moving is difficult for me though."
Cronos thought of something. “You could stop time while I can still walk around. My active abilities might be prohibited for now but my passive abilities are not”
"Maybe?" Tolkalee thought for a moment. "I've only ever stopped time with people other than myself once. And that was down here, while I was pumped full of adrenaline."
Jonathan let go of his grasp on Tolkalee’s sleeve. He activated his ability and his right leg went up in white flame. He stood in front of the door and kicked it open, burning it as well. The door was sent to the other end of the room and the flames revealed the Knight inside; it was Matthew’s near dead body. Jonathan’s leg returned to normal and white flames emitted from his hands instead, creating light for everything to see what was inside the room.
The masked figure in Hinata’s hallway was still waiting. He got out a pocket watch and began tinkering on it.
Hinata's embrace with her parents' finally ended.
"Thank you," She whispered. She spotted the shrine to her and her sister. She smiled.
"For everything." Her parents' smiled.
"I think you should be going now," Michel said. Hinata nodded. She turned to go.
"I love you," she said, walking out the door. She closed it.
"We love you too," both Ayashi and Michel said.
