Aza laughed. "Fine. I'm never fine. But I'm not hurt or something. My brain's just messed up." She made the crazy sign.
Aza laughed. "Fine. I'm never fine. But I'm not hurt or something. My brain's just messed up." She made the crazy sign.
Raeden chuckled. "I'm never fine, either. Fine is an illusion. I'm glad you're not hurt, but you aren't insane. I think I've got that figured out."
"I'm absolutely insane," Aza corrected. "Absolutely."
"I'm insane in some ways, too. You're not completely bonkers, though, because you can still walk and talk and make sense." Raeden tried to figure out how to explain this. "You're not completely insane. You're just, let's say, suffering from a slight case of head voices and personhood." Raeden giggled at his wording.
"Personhood," Aza agreed. "Can I ask now?"
"Personhood: the terribleness of being a person. Side effects include breathing, walking, and existing." Raeden keept laughing.
"Can I ask three questions?" Aza tossed the cap into the air and caught it again.
"Fine. Three questions." Raeden agreed since Aza had had a rough day.
"What's your favorite food? And if you could kiss me, would you?"
"Tacos, and yes." Raeden admitted, blushing heavily.
Aza sat quietly, not responding. She detachedly gazed into Raeden's eyes, thinking.
"What? Did I say something wrong?" Raeden was worried.
Aza smiled softly. "No. I'm just thinking." She reached out and brushed a strand of hair out of Raeden's face.
Raeden somehow turned redder. "What about?"
"If I'd kiss you back," she replied, a tiny blush creeping into her cheeks.
Raeden took this as an opportunity. He kissed Aza lightly, but quickly pulled away. "Was that okay?" he asked, slightly fearful of the answer.
Aza blinked, surprised, but smiled, both embarrassed and happy. "It was okay," Aza confirmed, smiling widely.
"Okay." Raeden smiled wider than he ever had. "That was my first kiss, you know."
Aza made a split second decision, leaning in again to kiss Raeden.
Raeden took Aza's cheeks in his hands. He wasn't sure why this was so important. But it was. And it was perfect.
Oh, God, she thought, letting herself get tangled in this mess of feelings. She kissed him back, a warm tingle igniting in her fingers.
Raeden was freaking out. This is the best day of my life! He thought happily. I don't know how long it's been since I was this happy.
(I DON'T KNOW HOW TO RESPOND TO THIS MAKE RAEDEN DO SOMETHINGGG)
(OKAYYYY)
Raeden pulled away. "What does this make us?" he asked. "Are we a thing? Or is this a one time only?"
Aza pushed black hair out of her eyes and looked down at her lap. She peered up at Raeden through her eyelashes then said, "Whatever you want."
"What I want is you." Raeden put his forehead against hers. "I want you to be with me, if you want to. I wanna be with you, Aza. But if you're not comfortable with anything, just tell me."
Aza shifted to put her arms around Raeden and laid her head on his shoulder. "I want to."
(holy crap this is the fluffiest thing)
"Okay, then." He kissed her cheek lightly. "I love you. Don't feel pressured to say it back, but I wanted to tell you the truth. I love you, Aza."
(fwoof)
"I love you too." Aza looked up at him.
Raeden checked the time.

"DEAR SHIT!" Raeden exclaimed. "We missed the late bus! I don't have a car… and my mom's at work…do you have a car?"
