“Understandable” Cassius nodded. “So…Faith, how long have you been up here?” Royce asked. “Since you all went downstairs…? I climbed through the window…” Faith pointed to the window he came through. It was still open.
“Understandable” Cassius nodded. “So…Faith, how long have you been up here?” Royce asked. “Since you all went downstairs…? I climbed through the window…” Faith pointed to the window he came through. It was still open.
"Okay, let's recap," Tolkalee walked to a window and sat down. "Matthew has killed one, Luis and I killed two, Aisen and I have killed one, Feathers has killed one, I've killed two, and Faith has killed one. That still leaves the gunman, the dude that was just here, and some that I have yet to meet." He pressed his palms to his temples. "how many would you say there are left?" he asked looking at Faith.
“Judging from what you said and from what I heard from other Knights, there are four hunters left. One being the gunman, the other three are all sorcerers” Faith answered Tolkalee with a slightly shaking tone. Cassius knew why he was shaking. “You don’t have to go Faith, we all know that you’re not strong against Pure Magic attackers” Cassius said to him.
"You know I keep thinking it would be good to have Tonakee down here," Tolkalee looked down shaking his head. "Should we stay here and wait for another attack? Or do we want to take the fight to them?"
Matthew looked at Tolkalee as he said that. “You wanna go get her?” He asked, trying to offer something.
"Ah, no," Tolkalee said. "As much as I think it would help, she has two children to take care of, and she can't get dragged into this mess. So do we want to take the fight to them? Or wait for another attack?"
Matthew sighed. “As much as I hate to say it, we might have to play the waiting game since we don’t know what abilities the other mages have nor do we know how many Corrupted Knights are out there, wanting to kill us” he told Tolkalee.
"How many knights did you say there were," Tolkalee stood and leaned against the wall.
“A total of 36 active ones, counting all of us here” Matthew answered.
"That probably puts us against about 41 enemies," Tolkalee was rubbing his good eye. "How many of the knights are still alive?"
Matthew’s right eye turned green, he was looking for the soul energy of the Knights. “Twenty one” his eye turned back to normal, looking at Tolkalee. “…it’s Twenty now” he felt a slight spark of pain down his spine. “That was Tanner…”
"That plus Hinata and her three spirits, Loki, and the other girl, whom I don't have the name of, and me. Puts us at twenty eight. Forty one divided by twenty eight is 1.5 which means we would all have to take on about two each," Tolkalee let his hand go down to his knee. "And if we don't get the other knights to help it'll be even more than that."
(Are we now in Maths class?)
“Not exactly…” Matthew began “You see, Corrupted Knights can only come from dead Knights, meaning there are only about as many of the Corrupted ones as they are the dead ones…and we took out 5 out of those who’ve died already, meaning there are about 11 left, since Tanner just died. Judging from that plus the remaining hunters, we’re against 15 other entities if no more Knights are killed during that time”
(Tolkalee was a general for over thirty years he tends to use numbers a lot)
"Oh, great," Tolkalee thought about something. "That means corrupted versions of Conner and his brother will be coming after us, doesn't it."
“Yep…” Matthew sighed as he said it. “…and the Corrupted versions are generally stronger than the Knights themselves”
An Announcement was made…
“Attention all alive Knights, as you may all know, currently there are Hunters and Corrupted Knights around the Labyrinth. But since it is going to be nighttime soon, please do not worry about them and sleep for the night. We will send out the Officers to patrol for the night…thank you for your attention and good night”
Galahad poked his head out of an open door in the Central Hall and saw the Clock Tower looming just ahead.
"Maybe we should look for the Clock Tower," Percy said a few steps behind him, looking through the many corridors and pure-white rooms. "That's where that guy told us Cassius was last, right?"
"Y'know, that's a smart idea!" Galahad said, motioning for her and Lance to follow. "Really wish this place had a map or something to follow."
As the trio made their way to the Clock Tower, the announcement of nightfall rang clearly over the Labyrinth.
"We should hurry," Lance said. "There's no telling where Cassius could be now, we need to find him as fast as possible."
Tolkalee let out a long sigh. "Well if we're going to stay here than I don't want to be caught off guard, like we have been for the last four fights. They are going to fight on our terms, not theirs."
Royce sighed as Tolkalee said that. “Does anyone have a place faraway from the center that we can use to hide?” He asked the other Knights. “Well…we could go to my place, it’s near the entrance of the Accident Region though we might have to be careful when we’re heading there…” Matthew suggested. “…Or you all could go to my place in the War region” Desmond added. “…or my place in the Sacrifice region?” Cassius shrugged. “…or mine in the Betrayal region” Aisen ended. They all looked at Tolkalee, waiting for his response.
(I’m gonna start giving you guys choices to make now. Time to decide; Matthew’s, Desmond’s, Cassius’ or Aisen’s?)
(Whichever one gets me to Cassius!)
Tolkalee thought about it for a bit. "Are all your places equal distance from the center?" he asked after a moment.
(Well…the Clock Tower is the same direction as the Accident region, But that choice is up to @The_Wild_Warrior)
They all shook there heads. “If we’re starting here, the closest one is Aisen’s place, following that is Desmond’s place while mine and Cassius’ are about the same distance away from here just in different regions” Matthew answered.
"I say we go to Matthew's specifically because we'll be going past the clock tower, and we might be able to get Cronos to help," Tolkalee decided.
(Wow…you’ve managed to come up with a good reason for the group to pass by there)
The group all stood up. “Sounds good, though I doubt Cronos will still be there” Matthew said to Tolkalee. “Well, what are you all waiting for?” He said as he walked back downstairs. “If you all will excuse me…” Faith jumped down the window he climbed up from before and rushed to somewhere else.
(Yay! Thanks!)
Lance was a few steps ahead of his brother and sister when he knocked on the door of the Clock Tower.
"Hello?" he called out. "Anyone in there?"
Tolkalee stared after Faith for a moment, as if he couldn't comprehend what had just happened. "Did he just flake out on us?"
A figure with glasses and a gray coat opened the door of the Clock Tower. “Oh, visitors. What are you here to do?” The figure asked the siblings.
Matthew sighed. “He hates being around us as he likes being alone and in silent places”
"We're here to find Cassius!" Percy called up to the bespectacled man. "He's supposed to 'purify' us or something like that so we can go home!"
