You can explain to both your mom and your doctor how you feel about it. Remember that the doctor cannot look at or touch you without your consent. Doctors, especially OBs are very understanding of everything that goes on 'down there'. All you need to do is speak up. :) You can even ask your mom to leave the room while you and the doctor talk privately, technically she is not allowed in the room without your consent either.
Even if it makes you feel funky, regular check ups are extremely vital to your health. Your doctor is supposed to be someone you can trust implicitly, so give them the chance to help you and support you. All you have to do is reach out! :)

these doctors have your best interest in mind, but don't be afraid to talk to them about it and you being uncomfortable. Even if they just talk you through what they're doing, it helps a lot with discomfort and anxiety. Odds are you are far from the only one uncomfortable with the situation, the doctor will have ways to help if you make your discomfort known.
