Daisy winked and tugged on him, signaling that she wanted to continue with the tour. “Oh, I know. I’ve always been special. It’s my defining trait.”

Arvil smirked at her, continuing to walk, leading her off to the main sector of his floor. There were computers and desks and employees typing.

“And here are my employees. The room from there is the strategic department. They’re the ones who test out the games and tech created and give us their feedback,” he paused, looking at her. “So you can say they’re the genius nerds.”

“The third floor is likely to blow your mind away,” Arvil smirked at her. “It’s not open to visitors, so you should feel special. It was designed by yours truly.”

Arvil merely gave her a knowing look. “Let’s go and find out, shall we?” He grinned wickedly, leading her to the elevator and waited for it to come up.

When the elevator door opened, Arvil lead them inside and pressed a button. Even when the doors closed, he didn’t let go of her hand.

“So, Daisy,” he looked at her with an amused look in his eyes. “How’s your work coming along?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“My work is coming along fine. I heard a manager talking about promotions some employees who’ve been with the company for a while, and I’ve been with them for… over six years now,” Daisy said with a shrug, glancing down at their hands. She didn’t remove her hand from his, though. It was oddly comfortable.

“Well, then, I hope you get your promotion,” he said to her genuinely, noting the way her eyes drifted to their linked hands. “You’re a hard worker.”

Daisy nodded and brought her gaze back to his eyes. “Thank you. I hope I get it, too. It would be more work, but it would pay more. And with more money, I would be able to rent a better apartment. Something bigger than what I have now.”

Arvil hummed in understanding. He opened his mouth to respond when the elevator let out a ‘ding!’ He turned to Daisy and grinned.

“Well, darling, welcome to the third floor,” he motioned to the door as it opened, welcoming the sight that entered his vision.

There were gaming machines, both big and small. A bunch of TV’s were on the walls, video games playing on them. There weren’t many employees there, but there were some.

“This is where we test the games we make,” he said to her. “Those are the video games. We also have arcade games, computer games, board games and all the other cool stuff. Amazed, or no?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy stepped out and raised her eyebrows as she took everything in. She had to admit, it was pretty impressive. There was a lot of stuff on this floor, and she probably hadn’t even seen it all.

“Wow. That is a lot of games, Arvil… You test everything up here?” she questioned, turning back to him.

Arvil nodded as a few employees greeted him. He greeted them back. “Most of the things, we don’t release. Some of them are here for upgrading. We mostly focus on gaming apps, so…”

“I see. You know, I just had an idea, and I think it’s a pretty good one,” she mused, looking him over thoughtfully. “Could I interview you for my paper? I’m sure my boss would love it.”

Arvil looked at her before shrugging. “I usually avoid interviews. They ask the same boring and irrelevant questions,” he responded. “But I suppose I wouldn’t mind if my interviewer is my lovely fiancée.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“It would make a good story, too. I could include details about our relationship in it, and it would just seem more…” Daisy trailed off with a blink, realizing it would probably be a good idea to stop there. Didn’t need anyone overhearing that.

Arvil nodded in understanding, pulling her a bit closer. “Would that earn you a promotion?” He murmured. “Getting to interview me?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Daisy bit back a confused frown as she was pulled closer to him. “It might. Maybe not right away, but it would definitely make them start thinking about it more. At least, I hope it would.”

Arvil nodded. “That’s good enough,” he said, squeezing her hand lightly. “Do you want to explore this floor, or do you want me to continue showing you around?”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Exploring this floor could be interesting. Maybe we could play a game where were here,” Daisy suggested with a shrug, ignoring how the simple squeeze of her hand gave her slight butterflies.

“All right,” Arvil smiled and tugged her further inside. “We also have video games here that aren’t ours, but are here for both amusement and for comparison.”

Deleted user

“Out of my company’s games, or another company’s?” He questioned with a raised eyebrow. “Because if it’s the latter, then it’s definitely the karaoke.”

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Just in general. I was going to suggest playing that with you, but I’m horrible at karaoke, so that is definitely not happening,” Daisy declared, a smile tugging on her lips again. “Pick something that doesn’t involve singing or dancing.”

Arvil smirked. “I’m absolutely fabulous at it,” he winked, knowing what an absolute lie that was. “I do have racing games as well, if you’re interested in those. There’s also action games and the likes. Or if you’re interested in mind games, there’re puzzle games to amuse you.”

“Let’s play Mario Kart, then,” he shrugged, leading her off to one of the larger TV’s. “I think we have that game somewhere around here. And if I recall correctly, people enjoy playing that. Don’t they?”

Arvil looked at her when she laughed. She had chuckled, smiled, smirked and grinned, but she rarely laughed at him. He liked the sound. As weird as it was.

“Well then, fiancée, Mario Kart it is,” he said. “Just the two of us? Or do you want a bigger challenge?”
