"Yeah, but I like washing. Besides, when you dry, you can put the dishes away because I don't know where anything goes." Eve reasoned with a laugh.

Alex laughed back and nodded. He grabbed a rag and leaned on the counter by the sink. "So what else do you do in your spare time?"

Eve grabbed the first dirty dish and dunked it in the warm water before pulling it out and scrubbing it with soap. "You know, read, listen to music, avoid people normally." she laughed. "What do you do in your free time?"

(Time jump)

The next morning, Meara woke up next to Isaac. The tv was on quietly in the background. She sat up quickly. Meara looked around, trying to remember how she had gotten there and who this was. Getting up as quietly as she could she went and got her things. She opened the door quietly and began to walk home.

Isaac jolted awake as the door closed. Where's Meara he thought before standing up from the couch and running to the door. "Meara?" he called, hoping he hadn't missed her.

Meara heard her name being called as she turned the corner. Seeing no one, she turned and kept walking.

Isaac ran down the street, still hoping he'd catch her, but he couldn't find her. He walked back into his house, dejected and tired.

Meara arrived at her apartment and sat down on the couch, shaking her head. She could barely remember what had happened the day before. The memory was all a blur. A bunch of strangers. A park. A sunset. A kiss. A boy. That boy. And then she had woken up. Meara blinked a couple times and picked up her phone. She saw a group chat, "Soulmates". She decided to text them.

"Hi everyone! It's been an exciting day! Just wanted to check in and make sure no one is in absolute need of bailing right now."

Eve grabbed the first dirty dish and dunked it in the warm water before pulling it out and scrubbing it with soap. "You know, read, listen to music, avoid people normally." she laughed. "What do you do in your free time?"

Alex thought about it. "Music, reading, buying posters and cleaning up after Sara. And sometimes drawing."

"Oh really, drawing? What sorts of things do you draw?" Eve asked, intrigued.

He rubbed the nape of his neck, blushing. "Uh, people mostly. Portraits."

"That's amazing! Could I see them sometime?" Eve asked, grabbing another dish.

He nodded silently and started drying the plates she had piled onto the counter. "What about you? Any other arts?" he asked while What Comes Next? blasted in the background.

Eve blushed and began to ramble, "No, just music. I'm not very good at anything other than stuff having to do with music."

Meara sighed and set her phone down on the table. What should she do now? Get showered and go back to Isaac or stay home?

Isaac went back inside and looked around. His house was kind of a mess, so he decided to start cleaning up just in case Meara came over again. I hope she didn't leave because of the mess. I didn't think anybody would be over yesterday, otherwise I would have at least tried to clean up a little. he thought as he turned on some music.

Meara smiled to herself. She would shower and go back to Isaac. After all, she had had a good time. Maybe he was the one. She set out some clothes and got in the shower.
