"Morning," Liam mumbled back, still not quite awake yet, "How'd you sleep."
"Morning," Liam mumbled back, still not quite awake yet, "How'd you sleep."
“Mm… Good…” Kasey murmured, pulling away slightly to yawn before snuggling close again. “You?”
"Yeah not too bad." Liam replied, Kasey's yawn causing him to do so a moment later, "What are the plans for today?"
Kasey groaned quietly at the thought of the work they needed to do for the day. “More looking people up and contacting the authorities.”
Liam sighed, pressing a kiss to her cheek, “The quicker we get this over with the better.”
“I know. I just wish it didn’t have to be done in the first place,” Kasey sighed.
Liam bit his lip, "I know. But we have to and there's no way to get out of it."
“I know,” Kasey murmured, looking up at him. “But we can at least cuddle for a little bit longer before we have to do anything…”
Liam smiled, pushing a stand of Kasey's hair out her face and behind her ear, "Exactly. I get you all to myself before you have to do all that hero stuff and research."
Kasey smiled back at him, feeling her cheeks heat up with a soft blush. She leaned into his hand and reached up to run her own through his hair.
"I love you. Have I ever mentioned that?" Liam said quietly, leaning into Kasey's touches.
“I think you might have. Once or twice,” Kasey teased softly, leaning over to rub their noses together in an Eskimo kiss. “Did I happen to say that I love you?”
Liam smiled at the nose rub, resting his hand on her cheek, "It's possible that you have, yes." He replied.
Kasey smiled back at him softly, biting her lip as she met his eyes. “Have I also told you that I really like your eyes…? They’re really pretty…”
Liam blushed lightly, rubbing his thumb over her cheek lightly, "Maybe. I can't remember. But I'm glad you think so."
Kasey continued to run her fingers through his hair, gently rubbing his scalp as she did so. It was so nice to just lay there with him, doing nothing but enjoying each other’s presence.
Liam let his eyes fall closed again, enjoying the gentle touches she was giving him. If only everyday could be like this. Calm.
“Don’t fall back asleep on me,” Kasey murmured with a soft laugh.
Liam huffed a laugh, opening one eye, "I'm not, but it's relaxing so I can't help it."
Kasey laughed softly and pulled her hand out of his hair. “How much longer do you think we can lay here?”
Liam hummed a little, “Five more minutes. Then we should get up and work.”
“Sounds wonderful,” Kasey sighed contentedly. She buried her face in his neck, curling up as close to him as she could.
Liam chuckled lightly, holding her close. That was, until, there was a knock on the door.
Kasey stiffened when she heard the knock. Who would be there at this time of day?
“Who do you think that is?” she asked in a whisper.
Liam shrugged, kissing Kasey on the head before he pulled away, "Dunno. I'll go check it out."
“I can come with you,” Kasey said, sitting up. “Just in case, ya know?”
Liam looked like he was going to protest but nodded anyway, "Okay." He said, heading to the door.
Kasey stood up and followed him out of the room. With her arms tightly wrapped around her middle, she stood close behind him as they reached the door.
Liam was cautious as he headed to the door. They weren't expecting any visitors so who could it be? When Liam opened the door, there was no one there, just a small box by the door.
“What… Liam, be careful,” Kasey whispered, coming out from behind him. She looked down the hall, but she didn’t see anyone.
