“Me too,” Lana agreed. “I laugh a lot more now than I used to as well. It’s nice. It helps relieve stress.” She sighed in contentment.
“Me too,” Lana agreed. “I laugh a lot more now than I used to as well. It’s nice. It helps relieve stress.” She sighed in contentment.
"Ah, laughter's good for the heart. Important for old geezers like me." Hinata nodded in agreement. She stretched.
Lana processed this comment, slightly confused. “How old are you…if you don’t mind me asking?” Hinata didn’t look like an old geezer. Maybe it was a dimensional traveler thing.
"Well, it's hard to explain. In simple terms, I am the oldest being. Ever." Hinata smiled.
"But magic makes me look young, no?"
Harper opened the doors with a flourish, just hearing the end of Hinata's statement. "Sorry boo, no you aren't!" He said with a cheeky grin, propping open the door.
Lana looked at the two of them, baffled. “Hello,” she stammered to the guy who had opened the door.
Xiang watched with a soft smile as Harper went to open the cafe. He was dancing around the cafe as he worked to make breakfasts and coffees and smoothies.
Hinata scoffed.
"And what makes you believe that?" Hinata walked into the cafe.
"Why me being the one who created this universe! With some help from my siblings, of course."
Hinata laughed.
"Oh, that's precious. You think this is the oldest universe." She wiped a tear from her eye.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, but there are many dimensions older than yours."
"Darling, I know." Harper purred. "I'm the god of space and time, I've created many universes, this is just my proudest." He didn't seem affected at all by her laughs.
Hinata gave a slight bow.
"Then surely you remember mine."
"Which is that. I did make some but I didn't make all. Nah, other gods and such did that, I'm pretty sure the doctor made one, ah nevermind. Come in, what'll you hhave?"
"It depends on what you offer. Also, I'm from Paradise. You know, the first dimension destroyed by the multiverse itself because dimensional travelers were screwing up the balance. Don't forget: not all dimensions have the same gods. There will always be dimensions you will see that no one associated with your pantheon made."
"Huh, well, we have teas, smoothies, potions, pastries, the likes." Harper said, completely ignoring her answer by walking in.
"Do you have Earl Grey?" Hinata asked sweetly. She would probably get a text from her boss soon, even though it was her vacation.
Lana was trying to wrap her head around this insane conversation. It was crazy to believe there wasn’t even life outside of her pack not too long ago and now Hinata and the stranger were discussing multiple dimensions. To distract herself from her thoughts, she tried to figure out what to order.
"Of course we have Earl Grey, what kind of heathens would we be if we didn't." Harper exclaimed, putting his hand against his heart in mock shock.
Hinata laughed.
"I see, I see. Could I get a cup?" Hinata pulled out her wallet.
"How much?"
Xiang glances at Harper as he listened to their conversation his eyes furrowed. Yes. He knew his boyfriend was a god. But… He was a mortal. And that meant that testing got older… Harper would stay the same. He bit his lip and grabbed the Earl Grey.
"Three dollars for a large!" He said, walking over to where Xiang was. Harper pecked his cheek when he saw the tea. "Thanks, doll." Harper purred, literally purred, happily.
Lana scanned the options, trying to figure out what to get to go with her coffee. She finally settled on two croissants and waited for Hinata to finish ordering and get her food. At least that was how the other places she’d been seemed to work, so she figure this one wouldn’t be much different.
Hinata pulled out three dollars.
"Here you go." She handed them over.
Xiang glanced up and smiled a little bit. "No problem, kitty." he teases, gently scratching under Harper's chin. "Love you." He hands her the tea. "And it's no problem dearest." he chuckles quietly before washing his hands with warm water and soap.
Hinata walked to sit at a booth, sipping her tea.
"Okay, this is good."
"Of course it is! It's made by the greatest person in all the worlds! My boyfriend!" Harper stated, it was a fact.~
Xiang chuckled. "That's sweet of you love. It's an old family recipe. I used to make tea by myself you know. None of the store bought stuff can cut it." he chuckles quietly.
Hinata nodded.
"I refuse to let that stuff near my diner."
“Um, I’ll have a black coffee and two croissants,” Lana said, trying to look confident. She smiled at the guys working there as she messed with her jacket zipper, a nervous tic she had developed. Ordering things was stressful.
Xiang nods. "Sure thing love." he sets to it, making the black coffee before handing it to her. "Enjoy. I'll go warm up those croissants." He smiles at her before walking to the bread area and picking up the soft food. He warms them up a bit before handing them to Lana.
