Kyle was in and out of a light sleep after that, worried about Caleb.
Because of the fact that he wasn’t asleep to well to begin with, the sun easily woke him up at around 7 am.
Kyle was in a deep sleep but that point, too exhausted from being awake the rest of the night to fight it.
Caleb tried to go back to sleep for a solid 20 minutes before giving up. He opened his eyes, squinting at the sudden light.
Kyle curled into Caleb a little more, whining softly and trying to hide his face from the light.
‘Damn sun’ Caleb thought in annoyance, pulling a blanket over Kyle so the light wasn’t shining in his face.
Kyle sighed softly and calmed down, snuggling into the blanket.
He smiled lovingly, deciding to just stay there so he wouldn’t risk waking Kyle.
About twenty minutes later, Kyle blinked his eyes open, looking very much like a confused kitten.
“Good morning” he said softly, kissing the top of his head.
Kyle yawned, closing his eyes and cuddling him again, “Morning…”
Caleb smiles weakly at him.
"You okay?" He asked quietly, opening an eye and looking up at him.
“I’m fine”
“Lies. No you’re not.”
He sighed “caught me red handed. You’re right, I’m not fine”
Kyle pouted a little, “Can you tell me what’s wrong? Please?”
“Just…still thinking about my nightmare” he mumbled
He nodded a little and ran a hand through his hair, “Do you want to talk about it?”
He hesitated for a second before nodding slowly.
Kyle kissed his cheek, still playing with his hair.
He sighed quietly, relaxing. “It was about…my accident.” He said, referring to the thing that sent the government after him.
“Oh…” He breathed quietly, “What happened… in the dream?”
“Well….I was trapped in this sort of chemical facility. The whole place was going down, but there was no way for us to get out. There was someone else with me, a girl. She..she died in there, right next to me actually….” he trailed off for a second.
He nodded a little, “I’m sorry she died…l
“To be fair I didn’t know her that well. She was a criminal, and she did sort of hold me hostage before we got trapped. But still….”
"It doesn't matter what you've done in the past, no one deserves to die like that."
“Yeah…she died and somehow I didn’t. I was at death’s door for hours but I never actually died. Finally the government managed to get me out but, they never found her body.”
"I feel so sorry for her… and you… neither of you should have to go through that."
‘Awww Caleb she feels bad for us!’ Eddie of course had to chime in in the back of his brain. He ignored her for now.
“Yeah…it was pretty bad. And the damn government was the whole reason we were trapped in the first place.”
