He narrowed his eyes, "They were scientists, they're not that hard to take down."

"They're Garrison scientists." She said, shaking her head. "I'm pretty sure they've started teaching them combat shit."

"The ones around Shiro didn't put up much of a fight. One of 'em did, yet he still went down." Alex shrugged.

Cammy made a face, then shrugged. "Maybe you just know more than them then."

"Maybe, maybe not. We're outta there now and that's all that matters." He ruffled his hair, strands of it falling across his face.

"Hm, point." Cammy conceded, taking another swig. Talking to him was like a mental workout, for god's sake. She was coming down off the adrenaline high, leaving her without much to distract her, since Pidge had flopped to the ground and was busy with his computer.

Luckily for Cammy, and for Alex, it wasn't long after that that Shiro was awake, stumbling out of the room, "Anyone got any water?" He raised a brow and Alex quickly grabbed a glass, filled it and handed it to the older man.

"No water, just wine." Cammy shook her head, watching Alex fill the glass as she took another drink. She was standing five feet from a legend, a man who'd inspired her to become a pilot in the first place.

Shiro offered Cammy a half smile before he downed the drink, "You're Cammy, right?" He shot Alex a quick look before looking back at the female.

Cammy blinked, tilting her head to the side. "I am. How exactly do you know that?" She caught the look her gave Alex, only furthering her confusion.

Shiro waved a hand, "I have my sources. Sorry, had them when I was back at the Garrison." He shrugged, then winked at Cammy, grinning as he handing the glass back to Alex.

Cammy just looked even more confused, but Hunk's arrival promptly wiped the expression off her face as she slumped against his side. "That sounds sketchy. It's nice to meet you."

"I'm Hunk." Hunk introduced himself, giving a friendly smile before pointing down at Pidge. "That's Pidge. Like Cammy said, nice to meet you, sir."

"Nice to meet you all, too," Shiro leaned against the counter next to Alex, crossing his arms, "Now, mind telling me what's going on?"

"Ah, aliens." Cammy said, nodding solemnly. "You hit the ground in a ship, and were taken to a research facility."

Shiro frowned, "Those blasted Galra. They're after Voltron and believe it's here. Zarkon is sure of it."

Cammy raised an eyebrow, capping her flask and tucking it away. "That's a lot of words that have, like, zero meaning to any of us. 'Cept Voltron, but…"

He sighed, "The Galra is the race of aliens that sent the ship. Zarkon is their leader."

"Uh huh." Cammy nodded slowly, trying to compartmentalize that information. Then gave up. "Well fuck."

"Look, all I know is that we have to find Voltron before the Galra do or it will mean war. One that will destroy Earth." Shiro frowned, scratching at his chin.

"I might be able to help with that." Pidge said suddenly, slipping his headphones down around his neck. "There are some weird energy fluctuations around here, like nothing I've seen before."

Shiro moved around so he could see, nodded approvingly a second later, "It's worth checking out at least."

"Now?" Hunk looked around nervously. "Shouldn't you get some more rest? We should at least take time to gather our thoughts."

"I never said we had to go now," Shiro replied, "I agree, Hunk, we should rest up and wait until morning."

Hunk visibly relaxed at that, and both Cammy and Pidge rolled their eyes at the same time. "Oh, right, okay. Is it alright if we crash here?" He asked, turning to Alex.

Alex sighed and nodded, "Yeah. There's another bedroom and there's an old mattress under one of the beds. I'll take the couch."

"Thanks." Hunk gave him a grateful smile as Pidge stood, already disappearing towards said bedroom.

Shiro turned to Cammy, "I'll take the mattress Alex mentioned, you take the other bed."

Cammy shook her head. "Nah, take the bed. I'll be fine." In all honesty, she'd been having worse nightmares, and probably wouldn't sleep much, if at all.

Shiro patted Cammy on the back, "If you're sure young lady," He then pulled Alex into a hug, pulling back and heading to the bedroom.
