Hinata sensed the shield.
"If you say so."
Hinata sensed the shield.
"If you say so."
(I'll be on the lookout for you then)
Skye gave his own casual smirk. "So, do things get fun around here come nightfall?" He asked.
(I'll be on the lookout for you then)
Yeeee))
"If you call fighting off the minions of evil so they don't make it into the world beyond fun, then yeah, sure." Hinata pulled her swords on. One on each hip, one on her back.
Skye raised an eyebrow. "Well that's unexpected." He said, lifting the spell that hid his own blades.
"Well, the leader of this place-" She gestured around, meaning the dimension, "-can't really let this kinda stuff happen, ya know? I built this place on the natural entrance to this dimension. If anything tries to get in, they end up here."
Skye watched her with interest. "Sounds fun. So do you expect interdimensional invaders?"
"Every night. I get about two hours of sleep."
Skye nodded to himself. "Any chance you could use a hand?" He asked.
"Always." Hinata checked her watch again.
"Five more minutes. Keep your guard up."
Skye got to his feet, drawing a blade. He held the violet sword easily at his side, clearly comfortable with the weapon. "Can do." He said.
Hinata pulled out the two swords at her side. She tossed them in the air, and they turned into two men.
"Tatsuo, Katsuo, keep on guard." They nodded.
Skye raised an eyebrow, he hadn't sensed them. "Who might they be?" He asked, slightly off guard as he tried to read them telepathically.
"Don't try," Tatsuo said, referring to his telepathic probing.
"They're my Companion Souls. You can forge one every 100 dimension years."
Hinata drew her third sword, holding at her side.
"They can be in Sealed form-" She gestured to her sword,"-or Unsealed, which can take any form. However, to remain in Unsealed form takes energy from me, since part of my soul makes up part of theirs."
(Dimension years= way longer than Skye has been alive.)
Skye retracted his efforts, "Interesting. You give more and more surprises every minute." He mused, his stance still casual, but ready to snap into battle.
Hinata shrugged.
"Three minutes."
"Just curios, but how long is a dimension year exactly?" He asked, being genuinely curious.
"It's… complicated. Dimensional years are based on the original dimension. Before you ask, none of us are from it. No one has ever come out of it, but some have gone in and got the time for us. In other dimensions, it varies." She looked something up on her phone.
"For your dimension, it equals…" She scanned Skye to get the dimensional trace off of him.
"Well, your dimension has been around for about 50 d. years."
Skye nodded, mentally recording this info.
"So what exactly do these invaders want?"
"The usual: the destruction of this world, breeding grounds, and because their Master told them to." Hinata shrugged.
"One minute…" Hinata crouched into a fighting pose, facing the center of the dining room.
(Let's assume that the other people in the rp are in the back room, so the things don't go after them.)
(Yeah.)
Skye took a more ready stance. "Figures. So I'm assiming we've got classic monsters and fiends right?"
"Well, they are literal shadow demons. Should be easy to deal with, with someone helping us."
Tatsuo and Katsuo drew their (normal) swords, preparing for a big fight.
Skye drew his other blade, still keeping his power hidden for the most part. "Oh perfect. Somethjng I have general experience with." He said, his tone holding a hatred for the aforementioned shadows.
Hinata noticed the tone.
"Personal grudge too?"
"Yeah. Mainly for hurting my younger brothers…" he said, "That and being one of the reasons our mother vanished."
Hinata nodded.
"Turns out my boyfriend was actually the leader, and he was using me. to get information so he could send his troops in. He even covertly tried to kill me."
"Some stupid shadow possessed one of younger brothers to try and force him to kill the other." He said grimly. "That and they're twins. I don't know where the first one is, but he definitely wasn't in good shape last we met."
"I'm sorry. I should have stopped them earlier…"
Her watch made a chime.
"It's midnight."
A portal opened in the middle of the room.
"These were different shadows. From a separate plain of reality." Said Skye, eyes trained on the portal. "So It's not your fault. Plus my youngest brother, was involved in a prophecy that kinda started the whole thing."
