"I've had enough!" Logan said. He'd figured out by now that giving Deceit attention only fueled the fire, but he wanted to punch that scaly face so badly at times. Like now. But he had to cool down and be logical. It was his job after all. So he ignored the snake and walked off to chat with Patton. "Fine, see if I care so much." he rolled his eyes.
Patton saw Logan.
"Twice! In one day. Get out of here, Deceit!" he growled to the snake and shook his head. Deceit did leave, but Logan still kept looking behind him for security. "Ugh! Patton, can you believe him! I loathe that guy." he spat.
"Logan, chill," Patton said. "I know you hate Deceit, but I'm sure he's got to be somewhat a good person at heart. He's a part of Thomas!"
(I've got to go. I'll be back in a bit)
"What heart?" said Logan. It was out of character for him to use aphorisms, like comparing the heart to the center of the feelings, but sometimes you just gotta bend the rules in order to make a point.
(Yeet. I'm actually literally trying to make a Deceit redemption arc up while we do this. He'll still be annoying as heck but not entirely evil lol I'm sorry.)
(No, I have theories too)
"Logan," Patton sighed, "everyone has some good in them!"
(Yeet, theories. Could I hear?)
"The physical embodiment of all that is evil has some good in him. Patton, he impersonated you, shouldn't you be more…" he flipped through his vocabulary cards until he found the right one, "salty about this?"
(Sure. In a moment. I have other things to reply to)
"Logan, he has to be a least a little good!" Patton said.
(Lol sorry okay then.)
"I stand firm in my beliefs that he is a rotten, no-good snake set out to ruin Thomas." Logan said
(I'm not running as many now. When it comes to fandom theories, in this case, Sanders Sides, I can have a few. We all know that Thomas is a good person, and my theory here is that even the bad sides, as they are still a part of Thomas, have some good in them)
"He's a part of Thomas!" Patton said. "Besides, no one would let that happen!"
(I actually believe that there aren't any "Dark Sides" of Thomas and that any side has the potential to go "Dark" like Deceit and mayyybe Virgil? He's more of a grey area idk. But Deceit could sort of "Go Light" later on maybe with some angst added too because why the heck not, kinda a thing.)
"That's why you need to be more skeptical about him! So it doesn't happen!" said Logan.
(Exactly!)
"Logan, I don't like it when someone hates someone else!" Patton said.
"Well, I'm not pathetically and falsely optimistic like you. I don't trust him, and as the Logical side, my word is quite literally law, so shut your mouth and listen to me!" Logan screamed, and regretted it. He'd probably have hurt Patton's feelings now, and that was never good for any of the sides.
"Logan!" Patton said. "Th-that's mean!" He was tearing up.
"I'm not supposed to be nice!" more regret. Virgil was suddenly back, "I heard shouting- dad?" he looked to Patton, the fatherly side. "Logan, what did you do to Patton?"
"He… He… He yelled at me!" Patton said, completely crying at this point.
"I was just trying to make him see sense! He's ranting about how Deceit, Deceit, of all the sides, could possibly be good and-" Virgil glared. "We aren't talking about him." he said. "Well he showed up just now, it is the obvious thing to discuss." Logan said. Virgil looked shocked and angry, and left. Logan decided it wasn't worth this trouble anymore, and exited also.
Patton didn't know who to talk to.
However, his dilemma was solved rather quickly as Deceit reappeared in the room, empty save the two of them. "Hello, Patton. It's not nice to see you at all," he lied, getting into the other side's personal space more than was appropriate. Typical Deceit for you.
"What do you want?" Patton asked.
"To not cheer you up. You seemed so happy, I wasn't concerned." he said, and put and arm around the Moral side's shoulder.
"Deceit," Patton said.
"No?" He meant yes, but of course. Compulsive lying. Sometimes it could be a real bitch. "Do you need to not tell me something?"
"I know how you are," Patton said. "Are you trying to help me?"
"No." another lie. "So, don't talk to me. How do you feel? I don't actually care you know, I am as evil as they think."
"I know how you work, so I'll tell you," Patton said. "Logan… he yelled at me!" He was trying not to start crying again.
"Well that's cruel." this wasn't a lie. When you're around Patton, it's easier to tell the truth. And Deceit just wanted to make him feel safer around him, it wouldn't do to accidentally hurt Patton's feelings.
"You're actually being honest?" Patton asked.
"I don't speak entirely in lies." he made a face at this, somewhat disgusted that anyone would assume that and also disgusted that they had grounds to. "Where would that get me? Sometimes Thomas needs the honest truth, other times I'll have to sugarcoat it or even hide it." he said.
