The cooks were already there and she opened the diner, grabbing a notepad and getting ready to take the first orders of the day. She took her place just inside the kitchen and was shocked to see Rhydar coming through the door with a dog and another guy. "First customers," she called back to the cooks, calming herself as she got ready to go out and take their orders. Her notepad was tucked inside the back pocket of her skinny jeans and her pencil was placed behind her ear.

Rhydar crouched down to pet the excited and very wiggly dog, cooing and fawning over her with a bright smile. Magnus called out to the cooks, "Are dogs allowed in here?"
Rhydar snorted. "Always the goody two shoes." He smooshed Lucky's face and playfully rubbed it. "Huh? He's such a good boy. But not as good as you! Nah uh! No he's not! You the goodest! Yes you are!"
Magnus rolled his eyes at how childish his older brother was being.

@gracehustle

"Leashed and well behaved?" The cook shouted back, poking a head out of the kitchen and forcing Jynna out so she could take their order once they sat down.
The diner was decently sized and quite homey, with small two person tables by the windows and bigger tables in the rest of the space. There was a pair of swinging doors seperation get the kitchen and the dining area and that was where Jynna appeared from, forcing a small smile on her face.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Leashed, yes." Rhydar answered for Magnus, hugging the wiggling Boxer to his chest from where he was crouched. "Well behaved? In a few minutes." He hadn't noticed Jynna yet, but Magnus had. He returned her smile with a friendly one of his own as he slid into a chair.

@gracehustle

(Sry it's short)
"And what can I get for you two today?" She asked over the shout of the cook saying the dog could stay. Jynna pulled out her notepad and got ready for their order, the menus sitting on their table already.

Rhydar looked up to order pancakes but stopped with his mouth open. Huh. And so we meet again. His eyes gleamed with recognition as he smirked slightly up at her. "I'll have some chocolate chip pancakes if that's available." He turned to his brother. "What're you having, Mags?"
"Blueberry waffles." He said. "Extra syrup."

@gracehustle

She nodded and a small smile appeared on her face, "Alright then, anything else I can get you?" Tearing off the order from the rest of the notepad, she tucked the pencil behind her ear and slipped the pad into her back pocket, trying to act like she didn't recognise Rhydar.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Nope, we're good," Rhydar said while looking at Jynna. He looked back down at the only slightly squirmy dog and changed his mind. "Actually, could you whip up something for Lucky here? She's not too picky, just no toppings like syrup or somethin'."

@gracehustle

Again she nodded, "We can do that, anything to drink for you two? Otherwise I can go get the order started right away." She looked down at the dog and smiled, hoping she didn't seem as happy as she felt to see Rhydar again.

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Some milk would be fine," Magnus said. Rhydar stood when Lucky finally calmed enough, leading her over to the table that his brother was at and looping the leash around his wrist a few times. Lucky laid down next to the table obediently, resting her head on the floor and looking up at Jynna while the little nub that was her tail darted back and forth.

@gracehustle

"Sounds good, I'll have your order right out." She smiled brightly at the dog and glanced at the two of them before heading to the kitchen and dipping inside. Jynna shouted out their order to he cooks and got the milk, bringing it back out to Rhydar's brother.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Magnus smiled kindly. "Thank you." Rhydar was, once again, scrolling through social media. He glanced up at Jynna when she gave Magnus the milk, then went back to his phone and texted one of his friends. Yo, there's a pretty girl at this cafe that I happened to meet last night.

@gracehustle

Once she had given him his milk she went off to take the orders of the other customers that were trickling in, most of them regulars that came daily so she knew what they ordered. Jynna started talking to some of the customers and soon the place was buzzing with small but happy conversations between friends with Jynna buzzing around and taking orders.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Rhydar slouched over the table, talking to his brother and people watching. His eyes often drifted towards Jynna, then he quickly found something else to look at to avoid being caught staring. He also kept an eye out for that vengeful ex he had knocked out. He didn't seem like someone to give up that easily if his threat was anything to go by.

@gracehustle

"Order up!" Came a shout from the kitchen and she smiled, the orders were finally bring filled.
Jynna grabbed the plates and balanced them in her arms, knowing that they were Rhydar's and the guy who was with him. "Here you two go, and there's the food for your dog." She said, setting their food down in front of them with the same smile as earlier, "Just give a shout if you need anything else or are ready for the bill."

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Sweet!" Rhydar sent her a playful wink. "Thanks, gorgeous." Magnus leaned over the table to smack the side of Rhydar's head, earning a yelp and a glare.
"Sorry about him. He's a flirt," Magnus said to Jynna.
"Maggie!" Rhydar whined, rubbing his head.

@gracehustle

She laughed lightly and felt her cheeks get a slight pink tinge, "It's alright, I don't mind being flirted with, it makes the day go by faster." The name Maggie clicked with the one he had said last night and she cursed herself internally. He had been talking about the guy who was with him not a girlfriend. Again the door to the diner opened and Jynna glanced over, expecting another normal customer, not her ex. It was clearly him, just wearing a black sweatshirt and a very hungover look to him.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Rhydar's mood instantly soured when he spotted him. "He tries something…" he muttered to himself, letting the threat hang over the table. Magnus turned around to see what had caught his brother's attention. Even Lucky sat up and started growling lowly, sensing something off with the human. Rhydar reached down and patted her head, trying to calm her down.

@gracehustle

"Shit." She cursed, biting her lip and trying to think, "You guys mind if I sit here for a minute or two and try to avoid my ex there? Will knows I work here and he's going to be looking for me." Jynna glanced around and a few more orders were called from the kitchen, forcing her to make the choice of making some customers mad and not serving their food, or trying to wait out her ex and see if he'd leave.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Rhydar didn't take his narrowed eyes off of Will. "Go ahead," he said. Magnus nodded his approval as well. Rhydar pulled on Lucky's leash when she growled some more and lurched forward.

@gracehustle

Quickly she spun the nearest empty chair to their table and sat down, keeping her head down but forcing a smile on her face, "Mind keeping your dog a little quieter? I really don't want a scene to be made if he finds out I'm here. You heard him last night Rhydar, if he finds me he's not going to take no for an answer." She knew hat he guy with him probably didn't know about Rhydar coming to her rescue but she didn't care, disguising her words to sound and seem like she was just a happy customer.

@ElderGod-kirky group

He hushed Lucky, then looked to Jynna, his face bright with a smile but his eyes dark and calculating. "I know that. What're you gonna do about it?"
Magnus dug into his food, grumbling some nonsense about lovebirds and how it sucks to be a third wheel.

@gracehustle

"See if he's going to leave anytime soon? I have to get back to work, but if he's here then there's no way I can take orders and deliver the food." She shrugged and focused on the table, still planning.
Much to her dismay Will headed into the diner, taking a seat at one of the tables and picking up a menu. He looked over it and then leaned back on his chair, pulling his hood down to reveal his signature dirty blonde shaggy hair. It was clear that he was waiting for someone to take his order, most likely Jynna.

@ElderGod-kirky group

Magnus's comment gave Rhydar an idea. He leaned over to whisper in her ear. "You can say no if you're already taken." He pulled back an offered her a flirtatious smile before turning to his food.

@gracehustle

"To what?…oh." Realization hit her and she shook her head, "I'm not taken, maybe that could work." A small smile appeared on her face and she bit her lip, nodding and glancing at Will, who was tapping his foot impatiently. "Know anyone that could jump in and act like they work here? All they'd have to do is deliver and take orders."

@ElderGod-kirky group

A girl with bright blue eyes and wavy, ocean blue hair walked in the cafe. Both brothers perked up at the sight of her. "Koral!" Rhydar called out. The girl looked over to them and approached them.
"Hey you two. What's up?" She noted Jynna sitting there too. And how desperate she looked. "Need any help, Mr Troublemaker?"
Rhydar nodded his head at Jynna, letting her explain the situation.

@gracehustle

She looked up at the girl with a thankful look, "Here's the basics, scary dude over there named Will? He's my ex, and is currently looking for me. Mind working my job for ten minutes or so until he leaves?" Jynna smiled at the girl and hoped that she understood, "All you'd have to do is take orders and deliver the food to the customers."

@ElderGod-kirky group

She gave a double thumbs up. "You're talking to a senior waitress, sis. I gotch'you. Us waitresses gotta stick together, now don't we?" She smiled at Jynna with that typical waitress smile.

@gracehustle

"That we do." Pulling out the notepad and pencil, she held them out to her, giving her the same waitress smile, "Thanks, I owe you."

@ElderGod-kirky group

"Not a problem!" She made a show of scribbling down an order–hers–then turned on her heel and headed over to the cooks to do Jynna's job.
Rhydar went back to his pancakes, and Magnus watched the girl work with no shame.
