She snapped up. "You've been flirting with me?"

He nodded sheepishly. "Badly, but yeah."

She blinked, still not exactly processing it. "Why the fuck?"

"Well, I never had the balls to tell you these things straight up, so I said them in German." His grin faltered from her reaction.
This was a bad idea.

"Technically, you did say it straight up, and I called you an asshole." She pointed out. "You fucking dork." She smiled, shaking her head affectionately.

He scratched the back of his head, looking down at his feet.

She leaned up, pressing a quick peck to his cheek. "You really need to get your shit together, Bambi."

He blushed heavily. "A-apparently so." He couldn't meet her eyes.

She moved to sit next him. "You know, Liebling, you could've just said something earlier. In English." She said, smirking. Ha! Pretty sure I pronounced that right!

"Two nicknames in one day?" He asked, smiling with her. "And, like I said, I didn't have the balls."

She rested her head on his shoulder. "Dork."

"What?" he asked. "You're intimidating."

"I'm not that bad!" She said, placing a hand on her chest in mock offense.

"I say the wrong thing," he said, snaking an arm over her shoulder, "And you can bash my skull in without even trying."
He was obviously joking.

"But would I?" She asked, mocking him from earlier.

"Well," he mused. "You do like to kick me a lot."

"I don't kick you that hard!"

"But you can," he said, grinning. "Doesn't change the fact that you have the ability to do so."

"Just because I have the ability doesn't mean I will." She retorted.

"But I didn't know that, Klugscheißerchen."

"I have no clue what you said, but I wouldn't."

He smiled. "I said 'smarty pants.' Doulingo isn't treating you very well, huh?"

"Not really." She admitted, shrugging.

"Keep ignoring its notification, and the bird might take me away," he joked, nudging her with his shoulder.

"I swear, that damn owl hunts my nightmares." She said, sighing.

"Do you need some help with your studies?" he asked.

"Yes, please." She said, looking up.

He chuckled. "I don't know why you never asked before."

"Spite." She said, grinning. "Spite is my motivation for everything."

He laughed fully. "Das gibt mir so viel Vertrauen in diese Beziehung."
