Xander stumbled towards the two.
"N-no… no more magic right now, okay? I was hoping you wouldn't go out there and do that…"
He got down on one knee by Ellie, then thanked Evie for helping.

@Becfromthedead group

"N-n-no, that's not what I… You wouldn't have known. You know nothing about your limits yet," Xander soothed.
He pushed some hair back from his eyes.
"How bad is it?"

@Becfromthedead group

"You seem to feel bad. How bad? You seem to be plenty alive, but you're… you're hurting, aren't you?"
Xander shifted his weight a little closer to Ellie.

@IzudekuMidoriya

Ellie leaned into Xander from being so weak. "My he..head re….really ba…d and I-It hu…rts t-to mo…move," Ellie stuttered leaning against Xander.

@Becfromthedead group

Xander held Ellie close to him so she didn't fall over or anything.
"That's about what I expected, honestly," he replied, "I'm sorry I didn't stop you sooner."

Evie watched. She's so weak… you could finished her easily! No, Jocelyn! Just let me have some fun! I said no! She flinched subtly as she battled her alter-ego in her mind.

@IzudekuMidoriya

Ellie continued to cry. She held on tighter to Xander. "I just can't control it everything hurts. I wish it would just go away." Ellie said gripping onto Xander.

Let me help her! I can make it go away, and you know it. Don't you want to help her? Evie winced. She did want to help Ellie, but not in the way that Jocelyn was thinking. No. Stop. I'm not letting you out, so stop trying! Oh, my sweet, dearest Evangeline. You know I will never stop.

@Becfromthedead group

"I know, I know… pushing your limits sucks. I've been there. It's even worse when you still feel like you have little control," Xander replied.
The shadows around him began to shift, just slightly.

Evie shuddered at Xander's words. She knew it to be too true. Evie, the dark voice purred in her mind. Please let me out. I only want to have some fun. You know I'm not going to let you do that.

@Becfromthedead group

Xander shook his head.
"It's probably better that no one can. There'd be a power imbalance. And someone would've stripped me of my powers the moment I was born. I know that for a fact."

Deleted user

She's gaining strength. Please, before it's too late! No! Evie struggled to hold back Jocelyn.

@Becfromthedead group

"Yeah, it's hard," Xander agreed, "Some powers are harder to control than others too. Yours could be more difficult, but I have no way of knowing for sure what you feel."
He glanced back to Evie for a second and tilted his head at her in question.

Evie's expression showed her pain. Please! You're weak – I am strong! Jocelyn, no!

Evie gritted her teeth. She looked at Ellie and Xander pleadingly. Help.

@Becfromthedead group

Xander felt Ellie's grip tighten.
"Yeah… that's how most people feel at first, but it gets better I prom- H-hey, Evie! Are you okay?"
His gaze lifted back up to Evie again.

The shy girl shook her head quickly, unable to speak. Jocelyn stop it please!

@Becfromthedead group

"You're not okay?"
Xander gently nudged Ellie away from him, out of the hug, and he came up to Evie and placed a hand on her shoulder. His shadow still sat by Ellie.

@IzudekuMidoriya

Ellie let go of Xander once her called to Evie. "Who's Jocelyn," Ellie asked Evie from the distance. After she asked that she gripped her forehead. "Crap, I used my powers." Ellie winced in pain.

@IzudekuMidoriya

Ellie pushed through the pain of using her powers and overheard Jocelyn yelling at Evie. She heard Jocelyn say she could help Ellie. "She can help me?" Ellie asked Evie standing up from the tree and walking to Evie and Xander.

@Becfromthedead group

Xander stood directly between Evie and Ellie. Something felt off.
His shadow moved back over behind him, where it belonged.
"Who? What? Evie already helped you some, she seems to be… What's happening?"
Xander's words were all jumbled, perfectly reflecting his state of mind.
