((Nah Veronica’s actually his younger sister. Caleb gets along pretty well with Electrica though))
“V I’ve tried, Katie won’t answer my calls. I don’t know why! Can you please just let her know that I need to talk to her.” He sighed “I’m sorry…this is all just…a bit of a big mess right now…”
Veronica sighed on her end of the line “Jesus Cabes…you better not blame yourself for this. You couldn’t have stopped him from being taken. I got to him as soon as I could…that was all we could do for him”
“I know…” Caleb said quietly. “I really owe you for that by the way…”
“Nah it’s more of a thank you for not murdering me as a kid”
“Oh wow V, like I’d actually do it.”
“You thought of it, don’t deny it!”
He let out a small chuckle.
(Ohhhh)
He went to go open the door to step out into the living room when he head Caleb. He didn't want to interupt but he also didn't want to eavesdrop. Maybe he could just… take a nap.
“Okay well I should go soooooo tell that girlfriend of yours that I said hi” Caleb said, smiling softly.
“Will do, hang in there okay big bro? Everything’s gonna be okay”
“I really hope so…now go live your life, I’ll talk to you later.” He said and hung up the phone.
Kyle crawled onto the bed, not bothering to pull the covers over him.
“Kyle?” He called out quietly
"In here," He replied, hugging one of his pillows and closing his eyes.
Caleb quietly walked into the bedroom. “Doing any better?”
He shrugged, not bothering to open his eyes, "No… yes… I dunno…"
He sighed quietly, laying down next to him.
"I just want it all to stop…" He whispered, curling in on himself a little.
“I know babe…” he replied quietly. “We’re gonna figure something out…”
He blinked up at him, eyes hollow and it was obvious Kyle didn't believe him.
Caleb pulled Kyle close. “I won’t stop until we do.”
He snuggled into him a little, "I know…"
He sighed quietly, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath.
He fell into an uneasy sleep after that.
Caleb was awake for a little while longer, just holding Kyle close to him. After awhile he managed to drift off.
Kyle woke up about every half hour or so from some nightmare, making sure to be quiet so he didn't alert Caleb when he did.
Caleb slept rather soundly, luckily no bad memories were trying to force their way in tonight.
Needless to say, Kyle was exhausted by morning, the bags had darkened and he felt way worse.
Caleb was literally out, the past day had been exhausting and his body had decided to sleep it off.
He slowly pried himself from Caleb's arms and slipped out of bed, no matter how heavy his limps felt, to grab a glass of water.
Caleb shifted slightly but didn’t wake up.
He grabbed a glass, hands shaking slightly and filled the it with water and drank.
Caleb woke up a few minutes later.
He placed the cup in the sink before sitting on the floor, to tired to move.
He sat up with a small groan, looking around. Memories of yesterday came trickling back in. He stood, groggily walking out of the bedroom to find Kyle.
He cracked and eye open when he heard the door open and shifted a little as if he wanted to get up.
“Hey babe, whatcha doin’ on the floor?” He asked drowsily, yawning at the end of the sentence.
"I needed to sit down or else I'd collapse." He explained, shrugging.
