“I’ll miss you, too,” William pushed up a little to kiss her better. “Dare I say it, I’ll miss you trying to rile me up by biting your lip or running your tongue over it. It’s driving me insane just thinking about it.”
“I’ll miss you, too,” William pushed up a little to kiss her better. “Dare I say it, I’ll miss you trying to rile me up by biting your lip or running your tongue over it. It’s driving me insane just thinking about it.”
Amber chuckled a little and pulls away. She took her lip between her teeth and looked down at him, a teasing light in her still-wet eyes. “Like this…?”
William looked at her with adoration, pulling her back down.
“Yeah, exactly that,” he breathed before placing their lips together again. “Let me help.”
Amber laughed softly against his lips before giving into the kiss. She kept one hand cupping his cheek and let her eyes fall shut, simply enjoying the kiss.
“I’ll miss you,” he whispered against her mouth, biting on her lip. “So much.”
Amber made a soft sound, half surprised by his actions. “I know… I’ll miss you, too,” she breathed, pressing their lips together tighter.
He pulled away and instead hugged her tightly.
“For today, just be mine,” he murmured. “Stay with me.”
“I’d be yours every day if you let me,” Amber whispered, shifting so she was laying beside him.
“I want you to be safe,” William said quietly. “You… shouldn’t wait for me.”
Amber sighed and buried her face in his chest again. “Let’s not talk about that… Let’s just… enjoy this now…”
William breathed her in–one last time, perhaps.
"Yeah…" he murmured. "Let's enjoy this…"
Amber hummed and nuzzled his cheek gently. “I never got to learn guitar from you…”
"I'll teach you," he murmured, kissing her nose. "Today. I'll teach it to you as much as I can."
“I’d like that,” Amber murmured, smiling at him sadly. “I’d like that a lot.”
[TIME SKIP: 3rd February, Sunday]
William and Amber had broken up. The broken relationship severed something in William, too. He felt hollow, though he knew exactly why he had chosen to end it. He wasn’t okay, and he didn’t know if he ever would be. Amber didn’t deserve that. She deserved better. He could only hope she let go of the heartbreak and be happy. Find someone else and be happy with him, no matter how much the mere thought angered him.
And now she was moving out. There was a vacant space in another dorm and Amber took the offer to move out. Never would the dorm smell heavenly. Never would he hear her singing in the shower or in her room. Never would he hold her ever again.
Now, they were standing outside, Amber’s bags next to her. It was hard not to pull her against him and beg her to not leave. William held himself back.
“I suppose this is it,” he said quietly, looking into the eyes he loved so much. Looking at the woman who took his heart. “You’re moving out.”
That past couple of weeks has been hard, to say the least. Amber was living with a man she wanted desperately to have, but she couldn't even touch him. She could barely even look at him. And she needed to just get out so that she wasn't tempted by him anymore.
So, when that offer finally came, the one she had been waiting for in the beginning of the year, she took it. As if it were the last thing keeping her sanity in check, she took it. Lightning fast.
And now, here she was, her first true love standing in front of her. The love she couldn't have. Not anymore… And she didn't know if she wanted to cry or punch something. Maybe even both.
She would miss him. She'd miss waking up to his arms around her, miss hearing him play his violin like he was a world-famous violinist, miss the looks he gave her when he thought she wasn't looking. Heck, she'd even miss walking in on him when he was in the shower! And those eyes… Those eyes would be the death of her, but she couldn't break the connection.
She blinked slowly, nodding once. "Yes, I guess it is… I'm officially leaving," she murmured, her voice quiet and… empty…
“Just—give me a second,” William shook his head, walking into his room and coming out quickly with a familiar silver and blue jacket. He stood in front of Amber and like good old times, wrapped it around her shoulders and zipped it up before she could slip her arms inside. He pulled her closer, pressing a burning kiss to her forehead.
God, he was going to miss this. Miss her so much.
“I want you to have this,” he said softly, caressing her cheek. “Because I want to be a little selfish and give you something to remember me by. So you can remember that you were once mine.”
He paused, looking at her once again, the void in his chest getting bigger. The first girl who cherished him this much, he had to let go. Reality was cruel. It was so goddamn harsh. Anything William wanted, it would give him and then remind him why he can’t have it. And then snatch it away, ripping him to shreds.
“I want you to be happy, Blue. Please don’t drink. Don’t torture yourself. Take care of yourself,” he looked into her eyes again, “For me, if not for yourself. Please.”
Amber shifted her arms inside the jacket, slipping them out. She'd learned how in the many times he'd done this to her. It was easy, now.
And now she had made a decision. She definitely wanted to lunch something. So she did, driving the side of her fist into his chest, beating on him a couple of times before she gave into the tears in her eyes and leaned her forehead against him.
"I hate you," she choked out. "I hate you so much right now…"
William winced, but didn’t stop her as she beat his chest with her fists, biting down on her lip as she did so. Then she rested her forehead against his, tears brimming her eyes. It broke his heart.
William wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly.
“I know,” he murmured, running his fingers through her hair. “I’m sorry… I hope you can forgive me for this. I hope you can understand why I’m doing this.”
"I know why you're doing it… But I don't understand why you can't give yourself another chance. You haven't hurt me in six months, William. Even that was an accident. Please, Will… Don't make me do this again," Amber pleaded, gripping his shirt in her fists.
Why did this have to hurt so much, why did it have to be so hard? He was breaking her heart, but she still wanted him. Gosh she wanted him…
(You said Gray first. XD)
“I’m afraid,” William answered, his own voice cracking as he took her fisted hands in his. “I’m afraid of hurting the woman I love, so I can’t give myself another chance. Not unless I know for sure I won’t be harmful.” He kissed her on the forehead again, “Stay strong for me. You have to. Stay as you are, my Soul of The Tiger. Don’t ever change.”
And if we ever meet again, if you’re still single…
Amber's lips trembled. She stared up at him for a moment, simply quivering in place. Finally, she slippe a hand from his grip and used it to grab his collar. She pulled him down, connecting their lips in one last, hard kiss. This would be one kiss that she remembered forever…
William reacted immediately, snaking his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him as he kissed her back. Unlike all the other kisses, this one was rough and hard and passionate, sending in all the emotions. The heartbreak, the pain, the sadness, the love and desperation.
William never wanted to let this go. He never wanted to let her go, but he had to. So he would.
Their other kisses were smoother than this. This was messy, with lips on teeth on tongues. Emotions piled on top of emotions. Hellos, goodbyes. The end…
Amber knew she would never find something like this. She would never find another man who made her feel this way. And that hurt because she would have to move on…
Finally, both pulled away, panting and gasping for breath, yet still clinging to each other. William’s grip on her tightened and he screwed his eyes shut.
“Go,” he whispered. “Because it’s hard holding you in my arms and not keeping you here. And that can’t happen.”
Amber slowly opened her eyes, looking up into his. She nodded as she reluctantly released him and took a step back.
"Okay," she whispered. "I hope we can see each other when you figure things out, Will…"
“I hope so, too, Blue,” William whispered back, loosening his hold on her until she was no longer in his arms. He suddenly felt empty, as if there was nothing left in him. “I hope so, too…”
Amber nodded again, quick and small. She grabbed her things, turned around, and walked away. Without turning back. If she had, she knew she would never leave. And that couldn't happen. He needed to believe in himself before she could help him anymore. Once he was there, she hoped he would find her again.
The second she walked away and William was inside the dorm, the door closed, he slid down on to the floor. He buried his face in his hands, gritting his teeth.
Empty. That’s what he felt. So goddamn hollow and empty and pathetic. He knew if he let himself, he would run to her, take her bags, throw her over his shoulders and never let her leave. But he couldn’t do that, so he just sat there on the floor, exhaling harshly.
She was gone. He had let her go. His clarity, his love, his other half. She was gone and he was alone. He felt lost, as if he didn’t know what to do anymore.
Then he slowly felt as if arms were enveloping him, ghostly but seemingly warm, akin to his lover’s embrace. And William knew what he should do.
Get his anger in check.
Then go back to his woman if she still wanted him.
Amber got settled into her new dorm, going about as if pulled by strings. She felt like she wasn't even present now, like she was watching herself move about this room. The girls she was sharing the dorm with immediately knew something was wrong, though she didn't ask. With the blank look on Amber's face, it she knew it would be hard to coax the truth out of her. But maybe one day…
As soon as she had all her things inside and out away, Amber laid down on her bed, facing the wall. Unfortunately, this dorm was much smaller than the one she had shared with Will— William. Than the one she'd shared with William. So there was virtually no privacy anywhere but the bathroom.
She squeezed her eyes shut, willing tears to come. Willing anything to come at this point. She just felt… numb. And she didn't like it one bit.
