He snapped his jaw at her finger playfully "No, I don't."
He snapped his jaw at her finger playfully "No, I don't."
She pulled her hand back. "I think you do." A smile crept up her lips.
"Then refresh my memory."
She wasn't losing this battle. "What memory is there to refresh? You just did it."
"Did what?" he asked, his grin growing
She sighed caving in. "Act like you're gonna leave when I'm throwing a hissy fit to get attention."
"Wouldn't you pouting also be manipulative?" He asked, poking her nose.
She snapped her own teeth at him this time. "That's different. I'm an attention whore."
He grinned. "So hypocrisy is at play, too?"
"Mayyyybe."
"2 times the wrong," he said, holding up two fingers.
She scrunched her nose playfully. "Nah uh!"
He nodded with a smile. "Uh-huh."
She lightly shoved him, grinning. "Nah uh!" The protest tapered off into a laugh. "Okay, fine. You win. But only because it's late and this bed is comfy and it's making me tired."
He stuck his tongue out. "I woulda won anyway."
"Mhmm, sure." She smiled lazily at him, just glad she had someone like him to spend her time with.
"You know I would've." He scooted closer to her again, returning the smile.
"You look tired, love."
She pressed her face against his chest, groaning softly. "I am…"
He began to lightly run his fingers through her hair, closing his eyes. "I'm proud of you for going to that family reunion."
"Mhmm. I wasn't so bad," she muttered, savoring his touch.
"Only had to bribe you 5 minutes, too." He smiled to himself, hoping he wasn't blushing too hard.
She smirked, eyes closed and sleepy. "Pretty sure I went over my limit."
He shrugged. "A little, yeah. But who's counting, right?"
She smiled, curling herself close to him and slowly drifting off. "You, for a little bit."
"Yeah," he said with a huff, "I lost track of time real quick."
She pressed a sleepy kiss against his skin. "G'night Runner," she said with a hint of a chuckle.
"Goodnight, love." He fell asleep with a happy smile on his face.

In the morning, Tessa didn't rest feel like getting up. The bed was too cozy and the warmth next to her was too good to leave.
Runner mumbled something in his sleep, his face twisted in a very unattractive but very funny manner.
Tessa groaned, knowing they had to get up soon. She gently pokes his side. "Runner," she whisper-sang.
