He laced his hand with hers and kissed the back of her hand, following Strabge to an outside training area.
"Here we train with weapons and magic alike." She flicked his arm so rings of magic encompassed his arm. " We manipulate time, environments and dimensions. To those who don't have abilities, see the world normally while we see it as a warping playground."
She nodded and looked around, "It looks like a normal space with nothing special going on, so I'm guessing I don't have abilities?" She asked, looking up at Loki, "What about you?"
"does it?" Strange asked twisting his arm ever so slightly, causing the area around them to shift and turn. "We can also manipulate places for specific people. Right wow I'm only letting you and Loki see what I'm doing. To anyone else that comes outside, it'll look normal."
The change made her freeze barely but she calmed down as quick as she could, trying not to draw attention to her slight freeze from the magic.
Loki placed a reasuring hand on her back and glanced around "facination, and it's safe to walk on?"
Strange nodded, demonstrating by stepping into shifting platform "perfectly safe."
"That's amazing," She said, curious but also slightly worried at the same time. Even so, she took a step onto the platform.
Loki followed close behind and watched as the world turned around them in astonishment
"It's very much like a kolydescope. The world always turning and shifting, yet in a snap of a finger," Strange snapped his fingers "it can all go back to normal." He chuckled as the two suddenly lurched in dizziness
"A little disorienting at first."
the sudden change made Avalin quite dizzy and she leaned back against Loki, nodding, "It's really disorienting."
He nodded and breathed slowly. "That was interesting. I presume it takes a lot of practice to get over the effects and to learn how to maneuver around."
Strange nodded and let them inside the building again
She followed Strange in, the effects of the space slowly fading away so she didn't feel dizzy anymore.
Loki followed close behind, still feeling the effects a bit.
"I see some of us still feel the effects. We'll eat and then continue."
Avalin dropped behind slightly until she was next to Loki, a light smile on her face as she walked alongside him.
He nodded and smiled in a silent 'thank you' to Avalin "where are we eating?" He called ahead
She reached out and grabbed his hand absentmindedly, rubbing small circles with her thumb as they walked.
"Burger place down the street. They're really good." Strange glanced back and smiled softly at the two "So the prince of Mischeif Finally found his match."
"That he did," She replied, smiling as she looked around the space and tried to remember as many details as she could.
Loki nodded and smiled, gently squeezing her hand. "I'm going to have to get you a camera huh?" He asked with a light laugh
Her face brightened and she nodded, "A camera sounds quite fun." She laughed lightly and looked around some more, "Then I wouldn't have to try to remember every little detail."
He nodded "we'll see what what can find." He promised.
The three soon reached a small place a few streets down from Strange's place.
She smiled happily when they reached the burger place, looking around at it before turning to ask Strange a question, "Is the food here good at all?"
Strange's mouth dropped "you haven't told her about food here?! What kinda husband are you? Yes the food here is amazing!" He shook his head "my God."
"I've eaten at Lillian's cafe, that was amazing." She said, leaning against Loki, "I've never been to any other place to eat on Earth."
"see? She ate here." Loki said, tugging her close and kissing her head.
Yes but she's never had authentic New York food. Three specials please." Strange said as a waitress walked over, shy at the presence of the strangers accompanying Strange
"Is New York food better than anywhere else's?" She asked, looking curiously at Strange and then around the restaurant.
He shrugged "It's not the best but it's decent." he said, thanking the waitress as she brought over three waters. "So I'm guessing this is very different from Asgard." he asked
Avalin nodded, "Quite different, but still as amazing in its own way." She took a small sip of the water and nodded again, "The buildings are so different, and the variety of places is amazing."
Strange nodded "definatly a lot of buildings. Amazing once you get used to it." He said, glancing over at Loki who was twirling a butter knife in his hand "please tell me you're taking her out tonight." He smiled and nodded "I have a few places in mind."
She smiled and glanced at Loki, watching him twirl the butter knife with slight curiosity. She knew he could twirl knives but it amazed her every time.
He caught her watching and winked, putting it down when the waitress came by with the food.
"Thank you," Strange said politly and dug into his food
Avalin also thanked the waitress, following Strange's example and starting to eat. The food was amazing and she nodded for Loki to try his, a bright smile on her face.
