Mikhail kept petting his back, occasionally petting his head.
Mikhail kept petting his back, occasionally petting his head.
The low growl in Arthur's throat grew a little louder, being petted felt good.
Mikhail kept smiling, glancing around to see if he could guess what time it was.
Arthur saw his movements, "What'cha looking for?"
"Just trying to guess what time it is," Mikhail answered.
Arthur tilted his head to get a look at the sky, then glanced at the shadows. "I'd say it's about 8 o'clock." he said.
"Do you have a technique you use when guessing?" Mikhail asked, also looking at the sky.
"It's not guessing." said Arthur. "You use the length and angle of the shadows. plus the angle of the sun or moon, then add in the time of year."
"Oh, that's cool." Mikhail replied, smiling at Arthur.
Arthur smiled, "Well, you kinda have to use them if you don't have clocks."
"Yea, I used to know how to do that too, but I forgot after a while."
"That doesn't seem like a skill you should forget.." said Arthur.
"Yeah, unfortunately, I did." Mikhail replied.
"Why?" asked Arthur, curling back up around him.
"Well, my dad found me when I was pretty young…"
"Are we talking about that Robert guy?" Asked Arthur, growling as he said the name.
"Robert? Do you mean Richard?" Mikhail asked, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
"The jerk who hurt you this morning." Said Arthur.
"Yea, that's Richard. I'm talking about George, the one I'm living with now."
"I don't care whatt that jerks name is. He isn't getting near you again." Said Arthur grumpily. "But what about George?"
Mikhail chuckled. "I said George had found when I was pretty young so, I had forgotten the skill after a year or two."
Arthur nodded, thinking about this. "Y'know… I'm not even sure when I learned it."
"That tends to happen when you reach a certain age," Mikhail replied.
"What might you be implying?" Asked Arthur.
"I'm not trying to say we're both old or anything," Mikhail answered.
Arthur laughed, his tail flicking the other's arm.
Mikhail flicked Arthur's head, also laughing a bit.
Arthur shifted, hugging Mikhail from behind, burying his face in tbe other's hair.
Mikhail stiffened a bit at first but quickly relaxed, melting into Arthur's arms.
Arthur noticed Mikhail's nervousness, "You okay?" He asked, afraid he'd done something wrong.
