"Just because we're brothers, doesn't mean he can't like someone else more then me," Liam replied, fiddling with the end of her hair, "Guess we'll never know now."
"Just because we're brothers, doesn't mean he can't like someone else more then me," Liam replied, fiddling with the end of her hair, "Guess we'll never know now."
Kasey hummed, leaning over to lightly kiss her boyfriend’s cheek. “Do you want some time alone with him?”
Liam was quite for a second, "Yes, please… if it's not too much trouble."
“It’s not trouble at all. I’ll go wait in the car for you, how about that?” Kasey suggested gently.
Liam nodded a little, "Yeah, yeah okay um, that sounds good."
“I’ll see you over there, then,” Kasey said softly, kissing his cheek one last time before standing and making her way to her car.
About five minutes later, someone tapped on Kasey's shoulder, "Quite a strange place to spend your time Kinesie. Wouldn't expect you to hang out at a grave yard." It was Matt.
Kasey stiffened at the voice behind her. She couldn’t turn around, not without her mask on.
“What are you doing here,” she breathed, reaching into her front pocket and pulling out her mask.
“I came to see Colby. I assume that’s why you and Liam are you. Such a tragedy for such a young boy to be taken like that, and because of his brother’s fault, too.” Matt sighed dramatically.
“Why are you really here?” Kasey questioned as she stuck the mask on her face and turned to shoot a deadly glare at the man.
He chuckled, leaning against the hood of her car, "To talk to you of course, why else would I be here?"
“We have nothing to discuss,” Kasey said as she narrowed her eyes. “You’re supposed to be in jail.”
He shrugged, "Am I? I didn't know," Again he chuckled, "C'mon Kinesie, we have loads to discuss. Like how you should join me."
“How about how I should alert the authorities?” Kasey shot back, her hand reaching into her pocket for her phone.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Matt raised a finger, "Call the authorities and Liam won't make it. I don't think he's very alert with his surroundings today, it would be very easy to put a bullet in his head so he could join his brother."
Kasey froze, then snarled at Matt. The prick.
“What do you want?” she asked through clenched teeth.
He grinned, "Good choice. Now, I now what I've said before, but I want you to join me, help me take down all the other supers."
“Why would I do that? The other supers are good people, like I am. You’re the one we should be taking down,” Kasey said, glaring at him.
He shrugged, “If you want to view it like that. But I could make you the words most famous super, the richest, the strongest. You could get whatever you wanted out of this.”
“That’s not why I do this. I’m not in this for money or glory,” Kasey declared, shaking her head. “I do this to help others.”
"But you could be doing so much more to help others. With my tech and your skills, you could save hundreds more people."
“Why do you want to save people? All you want is the fame and glory,” Kasey muttered with a frown.
"Fame? Maybe. All I really want is the money," Matt sighed, "See, if a superhero was to use and promote my technology, then people would be more inclined to by it, meaning I get the money and everyone is happy."
“Being a super isn’t about the money, Matt,” Kasey muttered, pushing her hand through her hair. “It’s about helping people in need.”
"And you said you can't do that with just a little extra cash?" He shrugged again, "C'mon, it's a win win deal."
“I have a feeling that it’s only win-win for you,” Kasey said, raising her eyebrows.
"No, you're winning too. You have no competition and the bonus part? You'll be able to keep Liam safe, safer then he is right now."
It was getting harder to argue with him, and Kasey hated it. She didn’t want to give in. She couldn’t give in.
“At what price, though?” she questioned him, knowing there had to be some catch.
"None. Just make sure all the supers are gone and I'll make sure Liam doesn't get hurt again." He smirked, a look that couldn't be trusted.
Kasey narrowed her eyes. “You want to get rid of the supers. If that happened, you would have full control. That sounds like a catch to me.”
