I groaned at the question, staring up at the sky. “You existing makes me flustered.”

"That's not an answer," I laughed, poking at his arm. "C'mon, be more specific."

“You get me flustered when… when you’re like gentle with me. I don’t know, I’m not used to that, I guess. Catches me off guard.” I closed my eyes, feeling the heat radiating off my pink cheeks.

My smile widened, softening slightly as I reached forward to cup his cheek in my hand. "Like this?"

“I shouldn’t have told you.” I mumbled, my face turning red. “Yeah— like that.”

"Aww…." I cooed, tilting my head to the side. "So cute…"

“I’ll start complimenting you again.” I threatened meekly, leaning my head on the palm of her hand. My heart rate had already started to picked up, making me feel a little dizzy.

I rubbed my thumb lightly over his cheek, just beneath his eye. "Oh? Will you, now?"

“Fuck—“ I inhaled sharply, blood rushing to my face instantly. I pushed myself upwards so I was facing Marina, sitting on my knees. “You’re gonna kill me. I’m gonna get a blood clot and it’s all your fault.” I attempted to tease her.

"Aw, poor baby." My mouth tugged down into a playful pout. I shifted closer.

“This isn’t fair. Isn’t the guy supposed to make the girl embarrassed?” I complained softly, taking the time to study her face— committing ever feature to memory.

"Not this time.." Grinning by now, she brought her hand down to his chin. Her thumb skimmed the length of his lips.

I felt every muscle in my body weaken instantaneously. I don’t think my face could get any redder if it tried. All I could do was stare at her, a sentence forgotten halfway through its creation leaving my lips slightly parted as her light touch teased them.

They were so soft beneath my touch….. I pressed down lightly, bringing my other hand up to cup his cheek. "Not so confident now, are we…?"

I mumbled something incoherently in protest, melting into a puddle on the spot. I was just… stunned. I never would have thought, Hell, I never would’ve dreamed of feeling anything like this before. And she was barely touching me.

The rush of power that came with his feeble protests was…. intoxicating, to say the least. I brushed my thumb over the length of his lower lip, perfectly content to stay like this forever.

Goosebumps decorated my skin as I firmly shut my eyes, almost forgetting how to breath. My breathing was quite ragged yet, but it came in short gasps. My lips trembled. I bit down on my lower lip, pulling it between my teeth to try and sustain a little sanity.

"Do you want me to pull away?" I whispered, gently tugging his lip out from beneath his teeth.

It took every last ounce of willpower in my to shakily nod my head, my glasses sliding down my nose in the process.

I pulled back abruptly. "I—Sorry. Did I go to far? I didn't mean to—I'm sorry."

“No I—“ I didn’t even know how to explain myself. “I-I liked it, probably too much, but… wow. Just… just— holy shit.” I raked my hands through my hair, trying to calm myself down. It took several minutes for me to collect myself to the point where I could form a coherent sentence. “What did you do to me? Where—How?” I shook my head slowly, still attempting to process everything.

I breathed a sigh of relief, and a sly smile forming on my lips. "I think it's called 'liking someone', Mercutio…"

“No wonder why people write about it so much.” I breathed, rubbing the back of my neck with embarrassment. “I didn’t… I didn’t moan. Did I?” I managed to look anywhere else but at Marina as I asked the question, flustered as all hell.

"No, Mercutio," I answered, amused by the question. "You didn't.. moan. At least now you've got some.. first-hand experience, hm? For your books, if there's ever a couple…" My lips twitched.

I let out another groan of embarrassment. “I can’t even think right now, let alone think about using words.” I complained. “I don’t even know… I couldn’t write that. Whatever just happened. I don’t think I even understand what just happened.”

"I could always do it again," I laughed, giving him a subtle wink. "If you need to relive the experience in order to.. better understand it."

“There it is again. I’d like to say for the record that I was absolutely right.” I smiled, albeit a bit shyly.

I tilted my head slightly, puzzled but incredibly amused. "What do you mean by that?"

I winked at her playfully despite the heavy blush still covering my cheeks. “Top energy.” I stated simply.

Though my posture went ever-so-slightly stiff, a soft laugh spilled from my lips. "Oh, really?"
