Stay near me. I’ll try to help as well as I can.
She looked at all the horses. One of them started trying to nibble at her hair as she passed by. She pulled her head out of the way, then turned and stroked its forehead.

She looked at all the horses. One of them started trying to nibble at her hair as she passed by. She pulled her head out of the way, then turned and stroked its forehead.
Skye slowly walked into the stable, noting how most of the horse backed away from him, seeming to detest his prescence. I can handle it. Just stay out of it.
Fine. Just don’t get hurt.
Septima kept her hand on the horse’s muzzle.
Jackson had the stable boy lead out a fine mare for Septima, and a proud gelding for Skye. Skye took the reigns with confidence, though the horse seemed to glare at him. Th prince had his own stallion and was leading him outside, Skye motioned for Setima to follow. "Alright al, he spoke to the horse. "You and I are gonna make a deal ok? You be a good boy and let me ride. And I'll sneak you carrots later tonight, and the night after, and so on for as long as I'm here. Alright?"
The horse blinked, but seemed to understand. Skye nodded and led him out.
(Bribery always works XD)
Septima mounted the white mare easily and took the reigns. She brought the horse to a brisk trot, then slowed a bit to wait for Jackson and Skye to catch up.
Skye was soon outside, He gave one last firm look to his horse before mounting with minimal difficulty. Getting his balance he guided the horse over to where Septima and Jackson were already waiting. See? I told you I had this! he said, with a hint of pride.
I'm glad you did, Septima replied.
She looked at Jackson.
"Where are we going exactly?"
Jackson smiled, "Into town, down by the market. There are a few things I have to get personally." he said, urging his horse off towards the gates.
Skye followed shortly after, seeming almost an expert.
"Alright," Septima replied.
She urged her horse onward and had the mare canter alongside Jackson and his steed.
Septima kept her eyes up, gazing towards the town.
Anything we ought to look for while out here? She asked Skye.
Not really, I'd pay more attention to what Jackson does. said Skye, **Though I'd suggest keeping an eye on how people react to his prescence while we're at it."
Right, I'll do that.
Septima fell a few paces behind Jackson and took a good look at him and his horse. She examined the clothes he was wearing for anything unusual, but didn't find much.
Skye nodded, You keep an eye on Jackson, I'll note reactions.
Easy, she replied.
Septima followed Jackson into the town and took note of the path they were taking. She scanned the area for any places of note, but mostly kept her eyes to Jackson's back.
Skye kept an eye on the city around them, and on the faces of people around them, occasionally skimming their minds as well.
Hm… do you even think his face is well-known around here? People don't seem to be waving or smiling at him for now, Septima said, He hasn't really made an effort to greet anyone either.
No… he's well known… said Skye, watch the people's faces.
Septima took her gaze off Jackson for a moment.
Ah, it's very subtle… Good eye.
She quietly kept following Jackson.
Skye nodded, studying the subtle fear, and even hatred in the eyes of the citizens.
They're tyrants, aren't they? Something along those lines…
She shook her head.
And to think they have the nerve to act all nice to us because we're supposedly higher-ups. Disgusting.
My thoughts exactly. said another voice on the link.
Whom the- Arthur? Is that you?
Septima physically jumped a little at first, but Jackson wasn't looking her way, so he didn't notice.
who else? said Arthur, FYI I'm currently trackjng you three.
Right, keep an eye on anyone our companion interacts with. said Skye.
Yeah… it's just been a while since you've spoken to me at least. Is everything going okay?
Septima felt a chill go down her spine. This man was hated for something he did, yet somehow still looked at other royals and servants with a big smile and friendly demeanor.
Everything's fine. And if you were gonna bring up what happened before I ditched you two then don't. he said, the last sentence coming harsh.
No… I hadn't really been thinking about it too much. I know what's my business and what isn't, she replied calmly.
Even if it was, that's not our focus right now.
Exactly. And you really don't need me distracted. he said.
Skye pulled up next to her as Jack came to a stop at a strange shop, dismounting and heading inside. Soon after a cloaked man went after him.
Septima looked to Skye.
"Should we go with him?"
Man, this place looks sketchy… what could it be?
"Arthur will be fine on his own." Said Skye calmly.
Arthur slipped down the steps and behind a shelf, watching as the prince bartered for a specific powder from another alchemist.
"Wait… oh, that was- oh. Sorry, I'm not the sharpest blade in the arsenal."
Septima ran her fingers through her dark hair.
"I was asking if we should go with Jackson at first…"
