Meg sighed. “Darn it. I left my best knives at home…”
Meg sighed. “Darn it. I left my best knives at home…”
Ebony started paying a little more attention at the mention of danger. She shapeshifted nervously.
"I'm lucky since most of my weapons are always on my person," Lila said.
“Or you can summon them,” Meg muttered.
"Yeah," she turned towards the new figure, "And another one comes, or was here already. And you are?"
(Who is the new child I’m confuzzled)
(Lila saw Ebony)
(Ooohhhh. Ok thx)
Ebony turned a little, hesitating a moment before realizing that the girl named Lila was talking to her. She frowned. "You can call me Ebby."
Lucian was confused about the possibility of this. The group was growing, and they all were related to super heros? It was practically insane and impossible!
“So anyone know what’s happening? Or going to?” Margaret asked.
"Something bad." said Ebby.
“Right. Because we’d all be gathered here to fight the rising sunshine,” Meg replied sarcastically. “Sorry. I’m just a bit freaked out.”
"It might not happen right away," Lila thought for a second, "Maybe fate wanted us to know each other first before it threw us into danger."
Ebony licked her lips, a little annoyed that the group wasn't taking this seriously. She didn't believe in fate. "It was already noted that the fact that we are all here in the first place is very improbable. That means someone probably wanted us here. And if their intentions were good, why didn't they just send letters to our homes telling us to meet at a certain time and place? Why make it look accidental?" Wrinkling her nose before continuing, she added, "That how I see it, anyway."
“How convenient,” Lucian commented, taking out the cane to simply lean on.
“Right. Fate.” Meg said skeptically.
Ebony looked in the boy's direction. She didn't like him. She didn't like that he spied on them, and she didn't like that he had superpowers too. With a sense she didn't know she had, she could tell that he was powerful. Not good. She tuned back into the conversation. "Think what you like to think, then."
"I'm sorry that you guys don't believe in fate," Lila responded, "I've live with monks most of my life so I kind of group on religious ideas. I'm not going to force it on anyone. Anyway Ebby's idea sounds a lot better than mine. The question is how did everyone get to this point?"
“Both are a bit fantastic,” Meg whispered, glancing around. “But, you know, isn’t everything?”
Ebby nodded at the Lila girl in agreement, but was having doubts all the same. What if it really was fate. No, it wasn't rational, but if superpowers were real, why couldn't fate be? But still, she said nothing.
Lucian shrugged his shoulders. “I got to college not to far from here, and I usually do my job in this area. Then I heard you all.”
“I usually do my job on the other side of town, but I finished my rounds over there and got bored, so now I’m here. My dads are probably freaking out that I’m not back at this point,” Meg replied.
So these guys were superheroes. Maybe they wasn't so bad after all. She glanced at the boy once more. He still made Ebony nervous.
"I was trying to head to a more secluded part of the city," Lila responded, "I ended up here instead."
“Magic off a bit?” Meg asked kindly.
"Just a bit," Lila responded, "I was aiming for the alley near here."
“Ahh. I should really get going… for reals this time,” Meg said. She was about to sink back into the shadows and disappear when (insert boom paragraph)
"I honestly was just bored and happened to hear someone talk about Dr.Strange being their dad. I got curious." Ashley said.
(I gotta go but,)
Ebony looked around then shifted into a lizard, effortlessly scaling a nearby brick wall.
