“Of course I know who,” Lucian said, “but I’m not at liberty to say who. I’ve treated them and they are physically better now.” He leaned against his desk, collecting a few other papers that he has written other observations about Morrigan on, stuffing them away calmly.

Joanna nodded. "Okay. Good Night." She said, walking back out on to the deck.

Morrigan caught sight of Joanna out on the deck but payed her no mind. Suddenly, she realized her mistake. She had forgotten to wash her blood off the cheese knife.

Joanna leaned against the ship's rail. She spotted Morrigan and waved at her. "Heya Morrigan."

Morrigan swore inwardly, plastering a fake smile to her face and waving. "Hey, Joanna!" It wasn't that she had anything against Joanna, of course not, she just didn't trust herself enough to socialize and not give anything away at the moment.

"What have you been up to? You didn't join us on land."

Sh*t. "The Captain asked me to stay back and plot out our next course.", she lied, glad that she'd had time to reinstate her previously crumbled walls before talking to anybody after Lucian.

Joanna shrugged. "Okay. Well, I'm off to bed."

Morrigan nodded, pulling her thick black hair over one shoulder and making sure the stitched-up gash on her arm was concealed. "Did you get hurt?"

Joanna shook her head. "No, I didn't thankfully."

"Good." Morrigan leaned against the rail, the wind whipping her hair around and exposing the long scar on her neck, and old scar.

Joanna smiled and turned, heading down deck.

Morrigan stayed there for a long time, mind flitting back and forth from her wound to Lucian. God, he had no idea how much she liked him.

Kameo spent hours in his lab, shaking his father out of his mind. He didn't even deserve to be called father.

Kameo came upstairs, deciding to pay a trip to Lucian and the medbay.

As the sun climbed up the sky, Joanna set to work making breakfast.

Morrigan sat straight up in bed, sweat dripping from her forehead. Her pulse raced, and her eyes were still wide with fear. Another nightmare. Stupid Morrigan.

Kameo leaned against Morrigan's doorway, smiling, "Hey Morri. How are you doing today?" he was bleeding in various places as he ran a hand through his wet hair. "I'm doing well."

Morrigan jumped. “Kameo, you scared me! What happened to you?!” She stayed in bed, not even considering stepping out in her nightdress. She pulled the covers up to her neck and sat up properly.

"I got shot at a few times." he grinned, "It was fun. I even got to test out a new poison."

Her eyes widened slightly, but she was used to his carefree demeanour by now. “You should get Lucian to check that out!” She quickly his her injured arm, realizing that he could see every one of the day-old cuts on her arm. F**k.

"Your arm okay?" Kameo took a step closer, brow wrinkled and completely ignoring that Morrigan's advice. "Have you talked to Lucian?" he frowned, "It looks self-inflicted."

Morrigan swore inwardly, knowing that she would punish herself for this later, somewhere Lucian wouldn’t check. She pretended to be confused. “Self inflicted? What makes you think that?”
