"It is doing that because you are only using the runes that you are familiar with. Try to use the ones that are the other colors. I know the magic is strange, but I have no wish for my house to burn down." Orion traces a few runes on the walls, modified protection symbols. On his own skin, he points out an unfamiliar rune, "This one stands for fire, try to access it, you have one too."

(yeah I am the opposite of athletic so PE is horrible) Sam looked down at his chest. He frowned at a line of reddish-purple ones. "I…Okay." He held out his hand and closed his eyes. The line of runes sparked to life on his chest, and a series of small explosions came from his hand. He recoiled, scaring himself with the noise

Lata stared down at her hands, confused. Why is it when I'm around people that something bad happens?
She also was curious if anyone realized she was gone. If they didn't, it wouldn't matter.

(hello sorry I was asleep for my last class lol) Sam frowned at his hand again. The purpleish-red runes sparked back to life, and he managed a reddish-purple fire in his palm after a few small explosions

(I have no clue what to do with Lucy atm, so I’m Just going to have her look for Lata ig.)

Lucy eventually made her way back outside. She tested the energy of the cabin from the front lawn, and could only feel two collected balls of energy inside. There were supposed to be three. She squeezed the purple stone that was in her pocket, fixing the wavering illusion over her face as she frowned. Who was missing? She let the illusion drop completely for a moment to reach farther distances, and she eventually found a small ball of noticeable energy. She assumed it was Lata and threw up the illusion again, walking in the direction of where Lucy felt her energy.

@Painted-Iris group

(SHOOT I GOT DISTRACTED AGAIN)
Lata began to curl in on herself. She began to feel like a burden to others. She felt like going to Orion and telling him she needed to leave. Not because of him though. She could imagine herself asking, "WHY DO YOU THINK YOU FOUND ME ALONE IN THE FIRST PLACE?!"
Lata then thought of Lucy. If they were looking for her, did she actually want to be found? Lucy would be able to sense her aura. Quickly, Lata tried to smother her energy.

@Desvelarse pets

(Lmao it’s all good)

Lucy felt her hold on Lata’s energy lessen, and she had to drop the illusion over her face to be able to keep track of it. She felt like Lata was close, and she had a terrible migraine by that time. “Lata?” She called, looking around as she walked at a slower pace.

@Painted-Iris group

She heard the familiar voice call her name.
Damn. I didn't hide it well enough…
Lata kept her mouth shut. She didn't feel like talking, much less someone she cared about.

@Desvelarse pets

“I can help you, Lata. I know you’re somewhere around here,” Lucy called, beginning to grow worried. What if something was wrong? She grimaced slightly, her head aching sharply.

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy exhaled sharply and grew quiet, trying not to make much noise. She eventually saw Lata, and she hesitated. She had to of heard her, so why didn’t she answer. Lucy slowly approached her, still feeling anxious about the situation. “Lata?” She said softly.

@Painted-Iris group

Lata peaked one eye out of her huddled form, but then looked away again. She opened her mouth, ready to tell her to leave, but her throat was dry and her voice would likely waver from crying earlier.

@Desvelarse pets

Lucy walked over and crouched near Lata. “Hey.. What’s wrong? Why did you run off? I’m sorry I didn’t look earlier, I had to go check something,” she explained in a soft tone, trying her best to push the images in her mind away.

@Painted-Iris group

Lata shivered, despite not being cold. Looking up at Lucy, she finally spoke, her voice a bit shaky. "You should go back."
(I'm getting really tired, I'll be back tomorrow! Night.)

@Desvelarse pets

(Okay, night!)

“Lata, if I’m going back then you’re coming with me. It’s not safe for you to be out here..” Lucy said softly, her expression kind.

@Painted-Iris group

"No. I'm not," she said, a dark tone in her voice. She sat up and hugged her knees. She liked Lucy and the others, she really did. However, with the way things are going, she would likely be a burden.
She barely knew what to do with Samandriel and Orion when they were both nearly dying.
"Lucia…" she started saying. She felt weird using her actual name over the nickname but she shook the feeling away. "In all honesty, you have no idea what I'm like. You think I'm a sweet person trying to help. That's just who I want to be. But I'm kidding myself. EVERYONE that I end up caring about either ends up dead or finds out what I've done and no longer wants me around."
Lata glares at the ground, but then her expression softens.
"I know what you're going to say. You're going to tell me something like 'Oh it's okay, whatever you've done it's probably not bad. We all care about you~!' "
Lata started laughing, letting the tears fall again.
"I've killed people, Lucia. And felt nothing."
Lata stared at the ground for a moment, the memories trying to consume her. Her energy surged and brought forth an illusion of blood on her hands. It dripped onto the ground and on her clothes. There was even flecks of the dark liquid on her face. She began crying silently.
"With you, Orion, and even Samandriel I felt accepted for even just a while. Then everything went wrong. Everyone was hurt badly and-" she wasn't able to finish due to the amount of crying, making it hard for her to finish.
(WOAH SUPER LONG BUT OH WELLLLLLL)

Sam frowned down at his hands. "I…What will the others think of me when I return home?" he muttered. He tried to get to his feet again, a little more successful this time. "Where are the others?" he asked, leaning against the sink and holding his head as a wave of dizziness swept over him
