OOF….. I've done a lot more history than a normal person as I found out today…..

Currently we're on our civil war unit. It'd be cool, if we weren't learning the same things over and over throughout the years

The things you're gonna learn about the civil war aren't even all true.
Wait til' you get to college. That's when you learn the truth about America.
And history in general.

Yeah I know. And according to dear old Texas, slavery was the main cause of the Civil War but the U.S. says its sectionalism.
Anyway everything is biased which is annoying

Truth about history in general? Like how Africa had empires other than egypt? Or about the war between the ancient indian civilizations and Rome? Or maybe the Hundred Years War in europe? Or even about the war between the ancient Chinese and the Mongols?

Blame my mother…. I haven't actually studied the ancient empires of Africa…..
but I did listen to her podcast on the mongols.. which included a bit about a war they had with the Chinese….
I did study ancient China… (We know about a lot of these other civilizations because the chinese recorded them…)
I did do a bit about the hundred year war…
I also did Mayas, Aztecs, Incas, and a few others?? (That's south Africa..)
I did Egypt and Mesopotamia…. (Gilgamesh's legend is awesome!)
I even did Celts!

Meanwhile, my Overly Catholic™ history book is over here complaining excessively about the Protestant Revolt and all the "horrible evils it caused" while brushing off the awful acts of Queen Mary/Bloody Mary during that time (you know, slaughtering Protestants for their beliefs) because she was "pressured into it by society".

I mean, I'm very Catholic, but I'm not that extreme…
