She ignored the first question for the sake of her guilt. "No one cares about me. The only person that does is Jessie and she has a life outside of me."
She ignored the first question for the sake of her guilt. "No one cares about me. The only person that does is Jessie and she has a life outside of me."
"Fiona" Rio's tone was frustrated. "I don't particularly care of you hate me but I care that the people around are alright. And while I cannot do anything about Rashi I will try to do something about you."
"How considerate." She mumbled, drawing herself back into her apartment. "I don't need your help though." She went to close the door.
Rio frowned again, "At least let me heal those cuts…"
"Rio, I can't say I'm not appreciative of the offer but you've got an office to run. Get back to work and let me bleed in peace." She fully shut the door, sighing quietly before returning to the bathroom.
Rio sighed, gasping as put his full wieght on his left leg, nearly falling as he catches himself on the wall. "God I hate you Rash…." he said with a small moan of pain as his leg cramped.
She sunk to the floor, sobbing into her hands. She hated so much that this was how she coped but it worked and most of the time no one ever caught her. She was so upset that Rio had been the one who caught her today.
Rio rode out the spasms in the hall. It felt like eternity even though it was only a few moments. Soon he was limping off to work. Getting back he realized the work had only piled up.
There was a small note this desk. 'Thanks for dropping off her meds, I know she's a pain most of the time but she's really going through a lot.'
Rio sighed when he saw it. "No problem Jesse…." he muttered, booting up his computer and prepping to pull an all-nighter to get caught up.
Fiona stayed curled up on the bathroom floor for the rest of the day, unable to find the strength or motivation to move.
Rio stayed at the office, working. He was trying to catch up on everything, despite the headache it was giving him. He stayed until late that night, spending most of his loose change on chips and energy drinks in the vending machine.
Jessie stayed late too, choosing to be a good friend and do Fiona's work too so she wouldn't be completely swamped when she'd come in the next day. If she came in the next day…
Rio eventually came out of his office, stretching. Seeing that Jesse was still around he slipped over to her. "You should go home soon." he said, gently.
She waved him off quickly. "I'll be fine, I'm just about done." She finished up and turned off the computer, grabbing her coat and keys. "I'd ask why you're still here but I already know. Oh, and thanks again for checking on Fiona for me. How was she doing?"
"I don't suppose you know she cuts herself…." said Rashi, yawning.
She sighed heavily. "Not again. I thought we were over this! Although I kind of understand why she didn't tell me after last time…" She felt the guilt curling around her gut at the memories of her harsh words to her friend.
"I'm just hoping it isn't because of Rashi yesterday…" said Rio,
"Nah, that wouldn't be the main reason. But it was probably the tipping point. So actually yeah, it kind of is his fault." She shrugged.
"I hate to sound rude but the initial starter for that explosion was her fault." said Rio. "It's hard to explain but it's the truth…"
"Yeah I know. She's only annoying when she's having a rough day. She hasn't taken her depression pills in days, I can tell, her being annoying is always a withdrawal symptom."
"Yeah, well her having a bad day, led to Rashi having a bad day thanks to his annoying empathic abilities." said Rio, "Which leads to me have a bad day because he took it out on me as his personal attack dummy."
"Yeah, sorry about that. She hasn't called or texted me, she's probably curled up on the bathroom floor staring at the wall and looking completely dead. I wish I could say this was the first time this has happened."
"I just wish she hadn't pranked Rashi…." said Rio, "To be quite honest I hurt… All over. And maybe if she hadn't pranked him he wouldn't have beaten me up and then I wouldn't be hurting right now." He laughed at that, regretting it immediately.
"She's off her medication, normally she's a lot more quiet and shy. I've never actually seen her so personable. It was pretty surprising."
Rio sighed, "Well, that's good I guess," he said, "Either way my opinion is biased and I have more work that needs to be done." he stretched and turned to leave. "I'm probably gonna be here all night, so don't bother locking up."
"Alright. Oh, and Rio? I'm really sorry about you having to see her like that. It's a shame really."
"Everyone has their down side. I just hope no one but me has to live through my brother's." he said gently.
"Still, I'm sorry. It's annoying to deal with, really. I don't know why I do most of the time." Sure, Jessie was nice, but that was just on the surface. Underneath, maybe she wasn't the best person.
"Well you're the best sort of friend for doing so" said Rio.
