@Elder-God-Whisper
Caleb shook his head and squeezed back gently before looking ahead with a neutral mask on his face. "No, it's fine. I just didn't understand."
Caleb shook his head and squeezed back gently before looking ahead with a neutral mask on his face. "No, it's fine. I just didn't understand."
"okay" she said softly she loved caleb but refused to say anything thinking he had moved on,
Caleb still loved Briar, he thought as he continued down the stairs, but he figured he wasn't good enough for Briar. He was a criminal and had abandoned his own daughter, even if it hadn't been by choice.
Briar shighed following Caleb.
They reached the ground soon. Suddenly figures dropped all around them, dressed in black and training guns on them. Caleb had a bored look on his face as he held up a hand and said, "'Sup my friends." The guns went down and a figured claimed, "Eh! Caleb! Still up for Poker night Saturday?" Caleb made a finger gun. "You betcha." Another figure asked, "Who's the pretty lady?" Caleb gestured to Briar and lied, "My fiancé." The men and woman around him whistled appreciatively and backed up, revealing a door. "Have fun." Caleb walked through the door, pulling Briar along.
Briar followedd Caleb.
Caleb led her through many twists and turns down gray, white-washed hallways. Suddenly they walk though a doorway to a huge, huge bustling open space with tables, tents, and laughing people walking around with dangerous weapons dangling from their persons, occasionally a fight breaking out in the walk ways. Caleb leans over and whispers, "Welcome to the underworld…"
briar shifted her eyes to caleb slowly then to the front.
Caleb squeezed her hand gently and started leading her through the crowds, ducking and weaving around pick-pockets and murderers. "We need to get the living quarters complex. We're almost there. …Are you doing okay?"
She nodded softly "I'm alright" she said.
They quickly got to a strange complex built into the wall at one end. "He's in here. We'll have to try and lie low so he doesn't catch wind and move." Then he muttered under his breath, "He's fucking dead…."
Briar nodded and followed Caleb.
Caleb went up stairs quickly, pulling a pistol from a holster. "I want you to stay out here. If he doesn't see you, he'll think I'm just dropping by as a friend." He held out the pistol to Briar. "Take this, and wait."
she nodded taking the pistol "plesse be careful".
Caleb nodded and slipped through the door, looking around.
Briar waited for Caleb praying to god that he was oaky.
Kaid looked up as he heard a noise "stay quiet," he muttered to the girl. Heading to the door and grabbing a pistol, he hid behind it, waiting for the intruder to come inside
Briar held her breath waiting for Caleb the come out with Elizabeth.
Caleb walked in, whistling and called out, "Yo, Kaid! You home?"
He relaxed his stance and came out from his hiding spot "damn it Caleb, I could've killed you." He set aside his gun and glanced his friend
Someone same up behind briar putting a hand to her mouth.
Caleb shrugged non-chalantly. "Sorry. I came by to see if you have some of that aointment you have for bullet wounds? I got shot in the leg on my last job."
He nodded and went to the bathroom "who shot you?" He asked "oh and this is Lizzie, before you yell, yes it's Briar's daughter, no I'm not doing anything to her, it's for both their safety
Briar slowly got lead to the same room gun to her head hand over her mouth.
Caleb swung around, seeing Briar being led into the room at gun point. He quickly whipped back around towards Kaid. "What are you talking about?! Safety?! Just, make your accomplice let Briar go." He gestured towards Briar, his hand twitching towards his hidden extra pistol.
"He's not my accomplice…." He muttered, coming to stand in front of Lizzie, protecting her. "Caleb….might want to use that gun of yours…"
She glanced at Elizabeth as the man removed his handgun still to her head placing his finger on the trigger.
Caleb widened his eyes. He grabbed his gun and spun back around to see Briar and her captor. "Let her go! NOW!"
"oh poor Caleb trying to save your girl how sad" the man said.
Caleb stalked closer, training his gun on the man holding his ex. "I said. LET. HER. GO!"
