Eva grinned. “Sounds good.”
They ambled around for a while before settling near to a silver birch. Barry plopped the cooler down on top of the blanket Eva had brought, reaching immediately for a drink.

They ambled around for a while before settling near to a silver birch. Barry plopped the cooler down on top of the blanket Eva had brought, reaching immediately for a drink.
“So, Eva, what do you do for a living?” Kasey wondered from her place, leaning into Barry’s side as she pulled a sandwich from the cooler.
"Well, I work at a vegan health shop right now," Eva replied, swatting her cousin's hand away from the fizzy lemonade she had been going for. "I help make some of the herb blends in the back, mostly, but I do a bit of everything. What about you?"
Kasey shrugged and glanced over at Barry. “Right now, I don’t really do much other than wedding plan… Thought I should probably get a new job after we’re married,” she mused softly.
Barry took her hand in his and pressed it to his mouth. "You can do," he murmured, "Whatever makes you happy."
"And what about you, Barr?" Eva asked, popping open the can of fizzy lemonade. "Still working at that tattoo shop?"
He nodded happily.
Kasey smiled at him softly before turning back to Eva, not taking her hand from his quite yet. “Oh, did he tell you about he tattoos he gave me? The first one… Well, we were both a little awkward about it since it’s, uh, right above my hip… The second one, though, is just here—“ she shifted so that she was showing the younger woman her left forearm, where the peacock lifted its head and twittered.
"Oh, I know all about the hip tattoo," Eva snorted, "Believe me. He wouldn't shut up about it. But that's really cool!" Grinning, she turned her head to the side and pushed aside a lock of hair to expose a tiny black bee silhouette, just below her ear. "I've got this one."
Kasey chuckle and looked yo ar Barry with a teasing glimmer in her eyes. "Did he tell you how red his face got when he did it? I swear, I thought he would turn into a tomato," she chuckled. "And that's a cute tattoo. Did Barr do it?"
Barry went pink and just sat there, unsure which young woman's shoulder he was supposed to swat.
Meanwhile, Eva burst out laughing. "Oh, yeah. He gave me all the details. And yeah, Barry did this one. I've got a couple more, but not from him."
Barry gaped at her. "Wait what? Since when?"
Kasey laughed softly, both at his look when they were teasing him and at his reaction to his cousin getting tattoos done by someone other than him. "You're not the only tattoo artist, love. Maybe the one she went to was closer to her."
Barry folded his arms across his chest. "What, next thing you're going to tell me about is the secret boyfriend you keep hidden from the rest of the world?"
Eva smirked. "Yeah, actually. His name is Arthur."
Barry's eyes had never been so wide in his whole life.
Kasey burst out laughing at the sight of his face. "Oh my word, Barr… Oh, gosh, you should see your face!" she gasped between laughter. "That was a priceless look!"
Barry pointed toward Eva, still shell-shocked. "You," he said, "Are going to explain this to me after. Over the phone. Full details. I want to know everything about this guy, including his address so I can show up and give him the talk."
Kasey covered her mouth as she began to laugh harder. "Barry, do you really think any boyfriend of her's would really need 'the talk'?"
Eva’s facial expression morphed into one of absolute horror. “Don’t you dare,” she threatened, her cheeks going pink. “And it’s not like I haven’t—haven’t—“
“You what???”
Kasey coughed, her cheeks tinting slightly red. It wasn't uncommon a thing, but the statement was certainly unexpected. At least she wasn't bothering them about it again.
“We’re not having this conversation right now!” Eva protested, rubbing furiously at her flaming cheeks. “Anyway, Kasey—Barry told me you have a cat?”
Kasey chuckled softly, thankful for the change in topic. "I do, yes. Her name is Ginger, and she's not actually fully red. She's a calico. Do you have any pets?"
“I’ve got a puppy,” Eva smiled fondly, “Who my parents didn’t want anymore, so I took with me when I moved out. He’s a corgi-beagle mix, and I absolutely adore him.”
"That sounds like a really cute mix," Kasey said, smiling. "What's his name?"
“Orpheus,” Eva smiled fondly.
"Oh, from Greek mythology? That's a cool name!" Kasey said, reaching for a water. She opened the cap and took a sip before taking another bite of her sandwich.
(fun fact, that's the name of my aunt's dog, AKA the family dog)
"Thanks," she grinned, raking a hand through her hair. "When's the wedding, if you don't mind me asking?"
(Lol. Cute~)
“June. The third weekend, I believe we settled on. Right, Barr?” Kasey said, glancing toward her fiancé.
"Yeah," Barry confirmed, wolfing down the last few bites of his sandwich. "You can come, right, Eva?"
Eva nodded.
"Great! I'll be glad to see you there," Kasey said with a grin, which only widened as an idea popped into her head. "Actually… Would you like to be in the wedding? As a bridesmaid? You're really close to Barey, so it would be nice to have someone from his side in it."
"Took the words right out of my mouth," Barry smiled. His grin only widened at the sight of Eva's positively ecstatic expression. "Really?" she breathed, eyes wide.
"Yeah, really," Kasey chuckled softly, leaning further into Barry. "Not my maidofhonor, but still a bridesmaid."
“Of course,” Eva agreed happily, cheeks flushed.
Kasey grinned back at the girl. "Great! We'll be going dress shopping soon, so I'll let you know when that is ahead of time."
