“If I tell the truth we could die.” I hissed back, refusing to look up from where I was hiding my face in my arms.
“If I tell the truth we could die.” I hissed back, refusing to look up from where I was hiding my face in my arms.
I blinked, taken aback. Does he mean what I hope think he means…?
"We could die for playing this little game," I said finally, "But this isn't the place to have this conversation. Skip third period with me?"
“Fine.” I sighed, knowing I didn’t have much of a choice at this point.
Marina's POV
"Great…." I trailed off, unsure what else to say. "What's my prize?"
Juliet's POV
Romeo still hadn't shown up to class, and I was beginning to grow anxious. Had something happened? Was he hurt?
Mercutio’s POV
“Your prize is talking me into dressing like a dork for a day.” I grumbled, still hiding my face.
Romeo’s POV
I rushed into class late, having jammed a gift for Juliet in my locker. I muttered some apologies to the teacher before sliding into the seat next to Juliet, panting from running had a block.
Marina's POV
"Ha," I muttered, "Hilarious. You're going to have to do better than that."
Juliet's POV
I struggled to keep my face from lighting up from the moment I saw Romeo, hurrying into class nearly forty minutes late. "Where have you been?" I whispered thorugh the side of my mouth.
Mercutio’s POV
“Being in debt to you is the worst.” I grumbled, but otherwise had no complaints about the situation.
Romeo’s POV
“I was on my way to school, but I saw a stuffed animal I knew you’d love. I went in to get it for you, but I didn’t bring my wallet to school today so I had to bargain with the lady. Good news, it’s in my locker and I now know how to use a drill gun.” I smiled, out of breath.
Marina's POV
I chuckled without bothering to hide my amusement.
(skip for M&M, stay for R/J?)
Juliet's POV
I nearly burst out laughing. Warmth spread through my chest, and though I hid a smile behind my hand, I tilted my hed at an angle so that Romeo could see it.
(Sounds good!)
Romeo’s POV
I poorly suppressed my own smile. “How was class without me? Productive?”
“Hilarious..” I muttered, glancing anxiously around to make sure no one was watching. “Skip next period with me? I want to talk to you about.. him.”
Marina’s POV
I leaned against the exterior wall of the school, sighing softly as I waited for Mercutio to join me.
Romeo’s POV
I nodded. “Of course. I’m always here for you.” I whispered back.
Mercutio’s POV
I dragged my feet the whole way outside, eventually dragging myself over to Marina as I saw her.
Juliet's POV
I gave him a small, relieved smile in response.
Marina's POV
"Good, you actually showed up.." I muttered, pushing myself off the wall. "Now come on, let's go."
(Awwwww Romeo is so sweet!)
Romeo’s POV
“Hang in there. Class ends soon.” I whispered reassuringly.
Mercutio’s POV
“Where are you taking me?” I closed the distance between us, strolling over to her side.
Juliet’s POV
I spent the rest of the period staring at the clock and rapping my fingers impatiently against the desk.
Marina’s POV
“Record shop,” I said shortly, “So no one sees.”
Romeo’s POV
I didn’t bother taking notes for the rest of the class, watching Juliet. I practically sprang out of my seat as the bell rang, eager to leave and spend time with Juliet.
Mercutio’s POV
“Great.” I replied dryly, trying to hide the building anxiety in my chest.
Marina’s POV
“I’ve chosen my prize, by the way,” I called over my shoulder as we arrived at the bus stop.
Juliet’s POV
Five minutes later, I found myself in the school field, waiting anxiously for my boyfriend.
Romeo’s POV
I shoved my books into my locker, snatching out a small stuffed fennec fox and bounding towards the field without any hesitation.
Mercutio’s POV
Dread pooled in my stomach at her words. “And that is?” I question, affixing my gaze onto the sidewalk to avoid panicking. I’m so screwed.
Marina’s POV
I raised an eyebrow at his painfully shy behaviour and flashed a grin. “You have to buy me pizza once every two weeks, at whatever time I chose.”
Juliet’s POV
I laughed when I saw Romeo sprinting towards me with a small object in hand, but I knew we weren’t in the clear yet, so I turned and took off for the street.
Mercutio’s POV
That’s it? I physically stopped myself from replying with that, biting my tongue. After a moment I provided a tentative “Okay.” Followed by some ungainly stammering before I managed to shut my mouth again, pushing my glasses up onto the bridge of my nose.
Romeo’s POV
I watched Juliet break into a run towards the street so we could distance ourselves from the school. I charged after her, grinning wildly at the chance to stretch my legs for the first time in ages.
Marina's POV
The bus pulled into the stop just as I saw a familiar head of hair crest the hill of the school field behind us. Shit. I grabbed Mercutio's arm and pulled him onto the bus with me.
Juliet's POV
"Damn it!" I cursed, watching a bus pull away from the spot just as I arrived. We'll just have to wait for the next one….
Mercutio’s POV
I couldn’t help the startled yelp that escaped my lips as Marina suddenly yanked me onto the bus. I blinked a bit dazedly, staring at her in surprise. “What was that?”
Romeo’s POV
I almost crashed into Juliet as I caught up to her, immediately pulling her into a bear hug.
Marina's POV
I practically shoved Mercutio into a seat, peering anxiously out the window as the bus drove away. "Juliet…" I muttered. "She almost saw us. I don't know why she's skipping…"
Juliet's POV
I sank into the embrace with laughter spilling from my lips. "Hey, you!"
Mercutio’s POV
“She’d probably shoot me on the spot if she found out we were doing this.” I huffed, letting Marina push me into a seat.
Romeo’s POV
“Hey…” I breathed, smiling ear to ear as I held my girlfriend close. “I missed you.” I whined, pressing my forehead against hers with a contented sigh.
Marina’s POV
I swallowed, but managed to arch an eyebrow. “So, Mercutio. Tell me, have I won yet?”
Juliet’s POV
I placed a hand in the centre of his chest. “We’re not clear yet.. wait until the bus comes, then you can kiss me all you want.”
Mercutio’s POV
“No way.” I grumbled, refusing to make eye contact. “It was not in that room.”
Romeo’s POV
I whined softly, but pulled away from Juliet to give her space. “Hold our your hands.” I grinned, hiding the stuffed animal behind my back.
Marina’s POV
I leaned forward until my nose was nearly brushing his cheek. “Then, why can’t you look at me?”
Juliet’s POV
I raised an eyebrow, but did as he requested, closing my eyes.
Mercutio’s POV
I gritted my teeth as Marina put her face right up against mine, trying to suppress the cherry red glow that signified all the blood rushing to my face.
Romeo
I plopped the stuffed animal into her hands without hesitation, grinning excitedly.
(I thought it was a fennec fox?)
Marina’s POV
“You’re blushing~” I teased, a vision of calm despite the fact that my heart was currently pounding with wild abandon.
Juliet’s POV
I opened my eyes and glanced down at the item in my hands…. and immediately let out a mortifyingly high-pitched squeal.
(Oml sorry that was autocorrect at work, I’m writing essays at the same time as this so I’m neglecting grammar! I fixed it now)
Mercutio’s POV
“Who wouldn’t? You’re uncomfortably close, you know.” I snapped, squishing myself into the corner of the seat as a defense mechanism.
Romeo’s POV
I couldn’t stop smiling as I saw how excited Inhad made Juliet. “I take it I did good?” I laughed, blushing profusely.
