Nykidia ran bare foot down the street til she got to a latter that ran up the side of a building. She climbed up and began to run across the rooftops. She always loved this. The height, the wind in her hair, the adrenaline. It was addicting. She finally got to the closest roof top to the park and jumped down. Shadows formed around her feet as she hit the ground and rolled. You're going to hurt yourself like that. "Yeah yeah. Whatever mom." Nykidia mumbled to Night. Shut up!
Ben glanced back every once in a while, trying to see if the person was on their trail. Though it was hard to tell when he had to make sure he didn’t lose Oridone, who kept making random turns as an attempt to keep anyone from following.
Suddenly coming to a stop as they reached the edge of the park the guard looked to Ben, worry in her features seeing him trying to catch his breath. They hadn't been far from the park, so it seemed she had gone overboard with the turns to make up for that.
“Sorry… I forget others can’t run that long.” She apologized. She waited so he could recover, though her attention was quickly grabbed by a park map.
“It’s fine, though did you have to run the whole way? Anyways… where here do we go from here?” He asked, managing to say the words after grabbing a water bottle from his bag. Ben watched as Oridone trailed her violet eyes across the map, waiting as she finally looked up. Her tail swayed a moment as she looked down the nearby path in thought.
“You won’t have to run through any trees. We just need to follow the park paths now until we almost reach the middle.” She finally said, starting down the path at a walking pace. Thinking they’d lost the stranger Ben was glad to stop running, able to stay by her side now that he only needed to match her walking stride.
Nykidia slowed up her pace as she entered the center of the park. It was strangely empty today but that didn't matter. She slowed down as she spotted a person checking their watch and bouncing impatiently on their toes. "Are ya lookin' for someone?" Nykidia asked. The boy turned. He couldn't be much older than she was but he looked extremely nervous. "Matter of fact, I-I am." He said, looking around. "Must be his first time being a runner." Night pointed out. "Who ya lookin' for?" She asked, smiling as she face him, profile. "S-Someone who goes by 'Peppermint gal'." He said, nervously.
