Jace frowned. “You know he gives us guys hell, right?” He pouted. “We’re miserable.”
Jace frowned. “You know he gives us guys hell, right?” He pouted. “We’re miserable.”
“Aw, sorry… Is it hard having someone looking over your shoulder?” Amber teased with a chuckle, pecking his lips lightly.
“Of course it is,” Jace huffed. “I wish I could hit him with a ball every time he glares at us. Which is like, all the time. Anyway, enough about that sour pants. Why were you sleeping on the couch instead of in your room?”
“Oh. Uh, I guess I turned the tv on and just fell asleep watching the show,” Amber mused with a shrug, knowing that was only part of the truth. “Anyway, let’s go sit on the couch. Cuddles sound great right now.”
Jace pecked her on the forehead, smiling at her. “Sounds great,” he said. “Do you want to continue watching what you were watching?”
Amber smiled and reached up to kiss him softly before leading him to the couch. “That sounds fine. Do you like The Flash?”
Jace scrunched his nose. “I tried watching it, but I never got into it. Personally, I’m not a big fan of superhero movies.”
“Oh… Well, maybe you’ll get more into it this time,” Amber hummed, tugging him down onto the couch with her. “C’mon. Snuggles.”
Jace sighed loudly like the dramatic idiot he was, and fell down on the couch as Amber pulled him. He wrapped his arms around her.
“All right, let’s see how I like this.”
“I hope you like it,” Amber murmured, snuggling into him and kissing his jaw — the only place she could reach at the moment.
“Should I bend down so you can kiss me properly?” Jace teased. “I can do it if you want me to.”
“Mm… Would you please?” Amber hummed, smiling up at him.
Jace obliged, bending down to her level so she could have what she wanted.
“Here you go,” he murmured.
Amber giggled slightly and pressed her lips to his. “Thank you,” she murmured against him.
Jace smiled against her lips, tilting slightly to get better access to her soft mouth.
“No, thank you,” he winked at her.
Amber chuckled softly and pulled back to softly kiss his cheek. “Okay, maybe we should actually pay attention to the show, now.”
Jace sighed dramatically and pulled Amber close, resting her head on his chest. “If you say so, love. I’ll pay attention to the show.”
Amber sighed at the nickname. Did he really love her? Or was it just a term of endearment?
“I hope you like it.”
“I hope so, too, Amber,” Jace murmured, looking over at the screen just as the episode began to play.
Amber had gotten through an episode and a half this time before her eyelids started to droop. She yawned and curled closer to Jace, losing herself in his warmth. She tries to fight the inevitable sleep — really, she did! — but it was too strong. They'd barely gotten further in the episode when Amber drifted off into a deep sleep, one that she hoped she wouldn't be awoken from.
Jace looked down when Amber curled up against him, smiling softly when he noticed she’d fallen asleep on him. He chuckled, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to make them both comfortable.
That was when William came out of his room, eyes snapping over to them. For a few seconds, they maintained eye contact, but then William walked into the kitchen, poured himself a glass of water and drank it. He rinsed the glass and set it aside, walking back to his room before he paused.
“Shouldn’t you be going home?” He asked Jace, quirking an eyebrow, voice raspy from sleep. It had traces of anger and irritation Jace had observed a lot, but never gotten used to. How could someone always be so angry?
Jace pointed at Amber. William rolled his eyes after noticing she’d fallen asleep, shook his head, muttered a ‘whatever’ and walked back into his room.
Amber hummed in her sleep, stirring at the noises around her. She nuzzled into Jace and sighed through her nose. She didn't wake, which she would have been grateful for if she'd even known what was going on.
When William woke up the next morning, he regretted sleeping in late. Because of his urges, it had been hard to fall asleep, especially without the help of his instruments. Though he didn’t understand why, he didn’t want to disturb Amber. The girl had a rough night.
Shaking his head, William decided to take a shower.
Once he was done and properly dressed, he walked outside and saw his dormmate and her boyfriend curled up on the couch, asleep. He almost snorted out loud.
Cold air reached the patches of bare skin that showed on Amber's previously sleeping form, rousing her from her sleep. She groaned and buried her face into what she thought was her pillow by ended up being harder and more solid. Her face scrunched up in confusion before she pulled away, blinking the sleep from her eyes, and saw what it was she'd been snuggled into.
Jace…
Jace stirred from his sleep, opening his eyes sleepy eyes to stare at Amber. He blinked.
“Good… morning…” he mumbled. He’d fallen asleep at her dorm. With her. For the first time since they’d begun dating.
Amber blinked, a faint, slightly embarrassed blush rising to her cheeks.
"Morning," she breathed, looking down at him. "Um. How'd you sleep?"
Jace day up slowly, stretching. Once he was done, he looked at Amber and noticed her blush. It caused him to blush, too.
“It was good,” he said softly. “You were warm. What about you?”
Amber yawned and sat up as well. She cleared her throat at the comment of her being warm before giving her boyfriend a small smile.
"Very well. You were warm, too… And comfortable," she mused.
Jace cleared his throat awkwardly before standing up. “I’m glad,” he said softly. “I uh… I should head out now, huh?”
"O-oh… Uh. I guess if you want to… Otherwise, um, you could stay for breakfast?" Amber suggested softly.
