He smirked. "I know. I myself don't really want to tell her I have a girlfriend, though I'm better at hiding it than she is."
He smirked. "I know. I myself don't really want to tell her I have a girlfriend, though I'm better at hiding it than she is."
He shrugged. "Things started off a little weird."
Zeus flipped the pancakes, then leaned against the counter dramatically, propping his chin on his fist. "Oh, do tell."
He rolled his eyes. "She got captured by a demon lord who ended up being my dad. I blew the camp to shit, but he ends up chasing after me He revealed he's my dad, and tried to get me to kill the Vanguard, but I stopped myself. At that point she's messing around with another Vanguard guy, so I just isolated myself from them for a few weeks, fought a few more things, then I came back."
Zeus raised a brow. "Rhydar? He's been chasing after her since she joined up." He went back to the pancakes, grabbing a plate and putting them on it. He poured two more blobs of mix on to the iron, then turned back to Runner.
He nodded. "Yeah. Ever since I've came here, things have been moving quickly. I mean, the same day that I came, we went on a date, I got hr the necklace she now wears as an apology for not being able to make it through one of her concerts, and we kissed." He smiled slightly. "I had been a little worried about staying here, just cause I've spent so much time wandering. I didn't know anything else. But she'd somehow got me to stay. She doesn't even want me to work, which is a little frustrating."
Zeus nodded, well aware of his sister's antics. "Kika will be like that for a little while yet. She hasn't had the best of luck with relationships, and she's sure no one likes her. Just be patient. You'll be able to work in a bit." He flipped the pancakes.
"I hope so. I'm getting antsy coped up in here."
"I SMELL FOOOOOOOOD!!!!"
Zeus sighed and rolled his eyes. "The nose of a bloodhound, I tell you."
He snorted, turning to Tessie's voice.
Tess breezed in the house, as bright and chipper as always. Her eyes immediately fell on the pancakes and her mouth started to water. 'Mmmmmmmm! Me wants!"
Zeus wasn't very fazed. "Well, if you weren't out all night doing gods know what, then you wouldn't be this hungry."
Tess conveniently didn't hear him and hovered over the growing pile of pancakes.
"What did you do last night?" Runner asked.
"Hmm? Oh, just talked to some old friends." She kept it vague, and it was obvious.
"Old friends on a different world?"
"On Earth, yes." She wiggled her fingers over the pile of pancakes. Zeus smacked her hand away. "I am from Earth, y'know."
Runner gave Tess a look. "So you're not gonna tell me?"
"I answered your question, didn't I?"
Zeus rolled his eyes, also well aware of her 'old friends'.
"Okay, then who are these 'old friends?'"
"Old men." She snickered, imagining their faces if they heard her call them that.
He rolled his eyes, slightly frustrated.
She sighed and turned to face Runner. "Fine. I went to New York to have a meeting with my Mafia contacts. I'm meeting with them again today as well."
"The same guys that supposedly jumped me?"
"No. This isn't New York. This is a completely different world."
He frowned. "Then why even bother going back?"
She shrugged. "I bounce back and forth. It's nothing new. I spend time with my different families whenever I can." She frowned. "But they need my help at the moment. A new rival's not playing nice, and it's making them lose their money."
He rubbed his face. He wanted to protest her going back to the Mafia, but decided against it.
She sighed. "Look, Runner. You can never leave. This is why I didn't want to tell you."
Zeus listened, not wanting to get in the middle of their lover's quarrel.
"Never leave? You're on a different dimension."
"Different realm," she corrected. "And I travel all across the universe. It's nothing new." She rubbed at her temples. "They took me in, Runner. I told you this. I can't just abandon them."
He looked down at his feet, frowning heavily.
