She brought him to the gym, where Zeus waited. He nodded at Runner and got into the ring while Tess set Runner down on a bench. "You gonna be good?" she asked.
"Probably." The seat was really uncomfortable, but he would manage.
She nodded, eyes still worried, but backed into the ring with Zeus.
"Yes, just a friend I see." he said with a smirk.
Tess snarled and launched herself at him, shifting into her dragon/human form mid way through the air.
Zeus also shifted. He was similar to her in the way that he had dragon features–horns, scales, legs, tail, wings, fangs, the like–but his coloring was more of a mud brown and stone gray than her sun gold. She slammed into him, but he easily stopped her, shoving against her and slowly pushing her back. Her clawed feet scraped against the slick floor as she tried gaining any traction.
He watched with mild amusement, then began thinking. Huh. I'm the only non-European dragon that I've seen, and I don't have a weird ass battle form like that.
((It would probably be a good time for his mom to pop up
((Yeah))
The two tussled, wrestling and kicking and throwing each other around. Snarls were emitted every once and a while.
A large black butterfly fluttered around Runner, trying to grab his attention.
He was zoned in for a moment, then noticed the butterfly, watching it fly around.
The butterfly fluttered to the other side of the bench, unfolding into Rhianon. She wore a hooded cloak that hid most of her unearthly features.
He took one last glance over to the two wrestling, then grunted, getting to his feet and attemptig to leave the room without being noticed.
Rhianon grabbed him. "No. Do not harm yourself even more. The fact that I am even allowed in this building says this girl of yours does not mind my presence."
He nodded, wincing as he sat back down. "My bad."
She chuckled. "This Theresa is quite something, letting a corrupted sorceress into her home." She looked sidelong at Runner. "I wonder why that is."
"Probably because she let a demon prince into her life," he said, giving her a look of his own.
"Hmm. Indeed. It is exceptionally odd seeing as demons invaded her home and forced her to kill her foster father. It was my understanding that she hated all demons after that."
"Well, neither of us knew until a few weeks ago. I guess it was just Latent until then."
"Hmm." She watched the two wrestle. "Zeus Hodson. Favorite of Pele, the goddess of fire and volcanoes. Virtually unknown but quite powerful in his own right." She paused. "Ah, my bad. I have a habit of looking between realities to uncover information on someone."
He tilted his head. "That's where I get it from." He smiled slightly. "She nearly kicked my ass the first time we met."
"Pele?"
"No, Tess."
"Oh, my bad." She turned her attention to Tessa, who was pinned beneath Zeus. "What happened?"
"I was just wandering around a street in the middle of the woods and they were on the side with a few others. They kinda took me in, but Tess started getting mad when I told them about my past, and I was an ass back then, so I snapped right back."
"Hmm, I see. Theresa Hunt is quite sensitive when it comes to her past." She blinked and pinched herself. "And I'm doing it again. How is she going to escape this predicament?" she asked no one, referring to Zeus keeping Tess firmly pinned beneath him. Tess writhed and squirmed, to no avail.
"She probably has a plan."
She did. She leaned forward and licked Zeus's neck. He jerked back with a disgusted look on his face, rubbing his attacked neck. "Ack!" Tess smirked and tackled him. They rolled around and went back to wrestling.
He snorted. "She's pulled that with me."
"It is a useful strategy, though I would not recommend it for real battles." She leaned forward, looking down and playing with her full finger rings. "What… what is my daughter like?" she suddenly asked quietly.
"Russian. Confident. A bit annoying, but definitely on the good guy's side. She follows this Rune temple thing. Said I was chosen by the temple, but I wanted nothing of it."
Rhianon nodded. "I gave her to the Master of the Runes, as I knew she would have an affinity for it, being half Fae. You would likely have the same affinity, hence being chosen."
He rubbed his face. "I already have responsibilities. I really don't need anymore."
"And you do not need to follow that path. It is simply an option. One that I perhaps should have taken…"
