Hazel smiled polietly as she ran down the road, a few plants in the "basket of the apron she was holding up. She had just collected them, and was already itching to get started on that protection spell she had planned. She went by, barely noticed besides a few looks, a good mixture of untrusting and friendly.
Ellis watched Hazel as she traveled. She felt a twinge of jealousy. Ellis was never given the opportunity to frolic in the woods. It was pretty much work all day. Maybe she'll have time for magic after work. That would be fun…
Catori walked down the edge of the river toward the town. Her footsteps fell silently on the soft ground as she looked over her shoulder to make sure no one saw her. Technically, there was not anything wrong with walking into the town, but none of the elders would be happy if they found out, and there were many people in her village who would tell on her for leaving. She snuck through the trees until the dirt turned drier, seeing a girl with freckles and brown hair walking towards the town, holding plants in her apron, and walked up to her. "Hazel!" she called from the trees.
Hazel skidded to a stop, turning to the girl. "Hello, Catori!" She said happily. "Are you coming to town today?" She asked.
"Yes," she said simply. Catori was not one of many words. She looked at Hazel, walking out of the forest towards her. "May I come with you?"
She nodded. "Of course!" She said, adjusting her grip. "Is there anywhere specific you plan on going?"
"No, nowhere in particular. Just to visit you all," Catori said, falling into step with Hazel. "Do you need help carrying those?"
"Oh, no, I have a handle on it." She said. "I'm not sure who's free right now, though."
"Well, I'll come along with you anyways," Catori said, her bare feet avoiding the small rocks along the path.
Ellis's curiosity got the best of her, she entered the woods and stumbled upon two somewhat-familiar faces.
Hearing a noise, Catori turned and saw a girl about her age. She recognized her, and struggled for a moment to remember her name. "Hello, Ellis."
"Hello, Ellis!" Hazel said, waving. "How are you today?"
"I am getting by, of course. What are your plans for the evening, ladies?" Ellis smiled politely as she spoke.
Hazel lifted the apron a bit more. "A protection spell, should I get the chance. And finding another job, of course."
"Ah, a protection spell. And who is it protecting? And from what? You see, if you are in danger I may be able to assist, and so may my familiar." Ellis raised an intrigued eyebrow.
Hazel fidgeted slightly. "Have you heard Elizabeth and Abigail Williams? The fits they've been having? Well, they think it might be witches." She shook her head. "You know how they might get, the things that've happened in Europe."
"Oh my. Abigail and I were friends in our young age. How far we have both come." Ellis sighed and collected herself. "It is not a day of reminiscing. I'm to set back to my home after I pick some herbs here. I have much on my list to do. Let's talk in our meantime. How are you, Catori?"
(Hey folks, is this still open? I'm looking to get back into rps lol)
