"Well? Let's hear it." Promise tucked her curls behind her ear.
"Well? Let's hear it." Promise tucked her curls behind her ear.
"You guys go towards the library, I'll go the other way and start shooting my shotgun," Rune said looking at the hordes.
"And…?" Promise bounced on the balls of her feet, shoving her hands in the pockets of her hoodie.
"I'm gonna have to run into the horde, I'm the distraction"
"What? You can't do that! I mean, unless you're 100% sure you won't become one of them or die!" Promise took one hand out of her pocket and counted on her fingers, then shook her head. "The odds are against you. It isn't fair that we get away and you die."
"So? Life isn't fair," Rune shrugged
"Well, I'm Solstice." Sol looked at the girl as she sheathed her sword once more.
“Congrats.” Eira replied dryly, her eyes locked on the zombies ambling through the streets.
Sol sighed, "No use at making conversation, I see." She sat down on her couch.
Eira nodded silently in agreement.
"You can sit down, you know."
“I’d rather not get comfortable.” Eira shot the other girl a glare.
"Ok so plan A is a go?" Rune asked
Sol held her hands up defensively, "I was just trying to be nice,"
“Don’t bother. I’m here until it clears up outside and then I’m gone.” Eira replied sternly.
"Fine whatever."
“Are you alone?” Eira’s sharp eyes scanned the room quickly, taking a cursory glance for signs of other people.
"Yes, I live by myself ever since my friend died." Sol sighed
“Sorry for your loss.” Eira replied, a bit quieter now.
"Absolutely not. Kid- sorry Rune, you're not sacrificing yourself. There's no way that I'm letting you go. We might be all that's left. At least let me go with you." Logan protested.
Sol stayed quiet and watched out the window.
"No! I'm going you guys are leaving!" Rune objected.
Eira turned her attention back towards the window as well, hoping she could leave soon.
"If you don't want all of humanity to end then you would let me go!" Rune reached for the door handle.
Logan reached for the handle, his hand connecting with Rune's. "I'm not going to stop you from going. But I'm going with you."
Rune looked at him. "Why?" Why is this so important to you?"
"Don't die out there Logan." Promise smiled wryly.
Sebastian stood behind Logan and Rune.
“I’m going too.”
He clicked the safety off.
“N-No! Neither of you are!” Rune stated. She didn’t understand why they wanted to go, why they wanted to risk their lives.
"I'd go with you, but I'm not much of a fighter. Plus my glasses will fall off and then I'll die 'cuz I can't see." Promise said seriously.
Solstice sighed, “Would you like anything to eat or drink?”
