Liam sat down on the couch, both of the cats jumping up onto the couch and curling up next to him, "You might have to kick the cats off the couch if you want to cuddle, Kasey."
Liam sat down on the couch, both of the cats jumping up onto the couch and curling up next to him, "You might have to kick the cats off the couch if you want to cuddle, Kasey."
“They can join us,” Kasey declared with a soft laugh as she carried the bowl of popcorn over.
"Yeah but I want to cuddle you, not my bastard of a cat." Liam grumbled.
Kasey chuckled as she set the bowl down on the coffee table. “Aw, but they love us, too,” she joked as she picked Quake up to sit down beside Liam.
Liam wrapped his arms around Kasey, "I don't care. I love you the most and I want to sit next to you, not Quake."
Kasey scooted closer to Liam, leaning against him. She set Quake down on her lap, then twisted around to smile up at her boyfriend.
“Well, it’s a good thing they’re easy to move, hm?”
Liam chuckled lightly, bumping his nose against Kasey’s, “Very good thing indeed.”
Kasey nudged her nose against Liam’s after he did it to her. She turned back around a picked up the remote, turning the tv on and finding the movie they had agreed on. Once it was on, she leaned further into her boyfriend’s embrace and started eating the popcorn.
Liam sighed contently, resting his cheek on Kasey's head with a smile. He liked this. Just being able to spend time with her and the cats without having to worry about anything.
Halfway through the movie, Kasey’s eyes began to drift shut. She blinked them open, wanting to stay awake to finish the movie. Eventually, though, her eyes just closed, and she fell into a light sleep against her boyfriend, smiling contentedly.
Liam noticed about five minutes after she fell asleep. He kissed the top of her head, slowly reaching over to pause the movie and turn it off. Carefully, he scooped her up and carried her to the bedroom.
Kasey didn’t wake as Liam carried her to the bed. When she was set down, she made a small noise in her sleep and curled up a bit on her side, but that was all. It seemed the exciting day had finally caught up to her.
Liam chuckled softly, shaking his head as he pulled the covers up around her. He sighed, walking back to the kitchen to quickly take his medication before he, too, headed to bed.
(All right, now what? 😂)
(Uh idk lmao, um… maybe something could happen with Matt?)
(That could work. I don’t quite remember what the last thing that happened with him was.)
(Same. Well, I had an idea. So what if Kasey noticed Liam acting a little weird one day and asks him about it. He confesses that it was the anniversary of his brother's death and they take a drive to go visit his grave. While they're there, Matt shows up and something happens. Idk what yet)
(Yeah, we could do that! How far should we skip? A couple of weeks?)
(Couple weeks to a month I think, yeah)
[Time skip: three weeks]
Kasey watched Liam from her place at the dining room table. She’d taken out the homework she needed to do for her classes, thinking she might be able to get some done, but instead had started to realize that her boyfriend was acting strangely.
“Liam…” she started softly, standing and beginning to make her way toward him. “Is something wrong?”
Liam wasn’t okay. In fact he was far from it and it was obvious. He’d been pacing for around ten minutes and silent pretty much all morning, lost in his own head. When Kasey said his name, he jumped a little.
“Um, yeah, yes I… I’m perfectly okay why wouldn’t I be okay? Everything is- is fine.”
Kasey stood slowly and began to make her way over to him. Her homework could be done later. For now, she had to see what was wrong with her boyfriend.
“Liam… What’s wrong?” she asked softly as she finally reached him.
Liam swallowed, letting out a nervous laugh, “Ah yeah you see I ah,” He sighed, biting his bottom lip. His hands started to shake and he stuffed them in his pockets, “It’s… it’s the anniversary of… of Colby’s death…” He mumbled.
Oh. No wonder he hadn’t been himself all morning… Of course, Kasey couldn’t blame him. She wondered if he’d even slept last night…
She reached over and set a gentle hand on his arm, hoping it would comfort him at least a little.
“Is there anything I can do?” she asked softly.
Liam rocked back on his heels, fists clenching and unclenching in his pockets. He hated how he was acting, how his body reacted to these sorts of things.
“Can we go visit him?” He asked quietly, looking from the floor to Kasey and ignoring her question for now.
Kasey nodded. “Of course. Do you want me to drive?” she asked gently.
Liam nodded, “Yes, please.” He hatred driven to visit his brother since the funeral. He always got a taxi or something along those lines. He didn’t want the same thing to happen again, especially not to Kasey.
“All right. Let’s get ready to go, then. Unless you already are?” Kasey suggested, giving his arm a light squeeze. “Do you want to pick some flowers up to bring?”
“There’s um,” Liam scratched at the back of his head, “There’s a follower stall on the way, we can drop in there.”
Kasey nodded. “Sure, we can do that. Let me get dressed quick, okay? I’ll be back in a second.”
