She chewed on her lip nervously. This was already tense and it made her stomach turn and nothing had even happened yet.

The first hunter gave her a look, "Move out of the way with the other mutts." he ordered, "You three better keep her from leaving" he touched something in his pocket, and the four wolves surrounded her, urging her out of the way.
The second Hunter grinned, a black and blue mist filling the clearing. A diadem appearing on the forest floor. "If you will not surrender, then you will duel." he said firmly, the evil grin never leaving his eyes.
Skye shifted, blades drawn as he added his own aura to the mix. The non magic weilders around them could feel the auras pulsing, but unlike the battle from earlier, between Skye and Marco, Skye's aura seemed weaker. It was pulsing to the fullest, but it wasn't as powerful as it had been.
"It seems you are weak" said the second hunter.
Skye gave no answer, knowing the diadem would prevent lies.
Marco watched the first hunter tensely, along with Skye. I hope your plan works….
(BTW This is actually going pretty deep into some of the history behind Skye's unique abilities, so any writing critique as far as suspense and explanation would be very helpful!)
(Cool cool!)
All she could do was watch and she hated that. She wanted to do something, anything, to be helpful in some way but she couldn't. So she just buried her face in her hands, refusing to look.
Skye glared at him, blades flashing as he charged the other.
The she-wolf he was riding darted out of reach, and the man dismounted. Skye watched as the man cast a spell on the whimpering she wolf, her eyes glazing over. The she-wolf shifted drawing her sword, wielding the Hunter's magic as if it were her own, completely under his control.
Skye paled, he wasn't prepped to fight an innocent. He backed away watching carefully.
"Surely you see I am blind?" said the man, "'Tis only fair that I have a champion"
"It isn't fair to her, she's too weak to fend off an attack properly!" protested Skye, "You promised a fair fight."
"And it is fair, for she is of my blood." said the man, "And by your code, that makes this perfectly fair!" he laughed with glee as the raven haired girl attacked, forcing Skye to defend.
Skye growled, knowing he couldn't win on the defensive. He fought back, slicing her arm.
She sent a wave of power towards him, Skye shielded, his shield cracking and falling away, barely enough to shield the blow.
She peeked up just enough to glance around. Maybe if she waited long enough there'd be a chance for her to escape. It was doubtful, but worth a shot.
They exchanged blows, magic clashing. It was clear that Skye was at a disadvantage, he had cuts on his arms, and a gash on his leg. But he seemed unfazed.
The girl attacked him again, and he defended, turning his defence into a counter attack. His attack threw her back several metres. Both were on their feet, huffing, eyes locked.
Skye was constantly keeping an eye on the man, watching for any unnecessary magical surge.
Marco was nervous, it looked like Skye was going to lose. Calm down… remember he has a plan….
She let her head drop back into her hands. Tears pricked her eyes but she tried to hold them back, she didn't want to cry here.
Skye noticed Crystal was upset, but kept up his game for awhile longer, until it seemed he was beaten.
"You're not going to win" called the man, "It's clear you're not strong enough. I haven't even tapped into my full powers yet!"
Skye smirked, suddenly letting a blaze of power whip towards the man, attacking him directly. "I know." he said, as his power broke the man's shield.
"You…. were holding back all this time?!" asked the man in shock.
Marco grinned, watching.
Skye's eyes were cold. Violet auras whipped through the air. He attacked the man with aura alone, in a relentless barrage. The hunter raised his most powerful shield in a desperate attempt to protect himself from the sudden barrage. Skye attacked the entire shield once, finding the weakpoint, and focusing on it.
She curled up on herself, blinking back the tears although a few did slip through. She just wanted this to be over.
Finally the shield broke and Skye had him pinned by a blade. "I've won." he said flatly, "Now follow your law and withdraw."
The man nodded in shock, and vanished.
Skye tossed something to the girl, causing her to smile. Marco attacked the other Hunter and pulled out five more amulets, one fore each of the wolves guarding Crystal, and one for the trembling pup.
The green and brown furred wolf released the pup, hugging him. Smiling at the three they were soon off into the woods.
Skye knelt tiredly next to Crystal. "Are you alright?" he asked quietly.
She sniffed quietly before looking up at him, tears still shining in her eyes. "Y-Yeah. I'm f-fine."
Skye pulled her into a hug, focusing entirely on her.
Marco picked up Skye's blades from the middle of the clearing, watching them carefully.
She wrapped her arms around him tightly, crying into his shoulder. It felt so much better to just let it go.
Skye held her tightly, humming softly as he let the adrenaline from the fight die away, forcing himself to relax.
"I hate watching fights, I hate watching people getting hurt." She sniffled, only holding him tighter.
"Hopefully we won't have to do that anymore…" he murmured.
She squeezed her eyes shut, willing for her tears to stop. "I just don't want to see you hurt…"
"Hey.. it's gonna be ok…"
She pulled her head up to look at him, tears tracks marking her cheeks. "Will it though?"
"It always is…." said Skye gently.
She smiled a little, resting her forehead against his. "I don't deserve you, I really don't."
Skye smiled, rubbing her back, "I'm the one who doesn't deserve you"
"That's not true, you deserve so much better than me."
"I couldn't ask for anything better"
"That's just not true." Her smile widened a tiny bit.
"Yes it is"
"No it isn't, love."
"Are we seriously going to argue over this?" asked Skye, "I wish you would accept that you're enough for me"
"It's one of the few things in this world I feel extremely strongly about." She shrugged.
