I swayed forward at the loss of contact, nearly falling to the ground now that he wasn’t there to support my trembling body. After a moment, I leaned back against the wall, panting heavily.
I felt satisfied with the way she almost stumbled when I moved away from her. It proved just how strong my effect was on her.
I looked at her lazily and spread my arms, a calculating look in my eyes.
“Come here,” I said softly, though my voice was commanding.
My legs moved of their own accord, carrying me unsteadily over to the boy who currently held complete control over me. I nearly stumbled into his lap when I tried to sit down, despite the fact that we hadn’t actually done anything. I’d gone much farther than this before, but never had anyone reduced me to this.
When she took a seat next to me, I pulled her into my lap, her back pressed against my chest with my arms wrapped around her stomach. I dug my face in the crook of her neck, lips pressed against the skin, taking her scent in deeply.
“Elle…” I mumbled her name, her fragrance driving me insane. “You certainly are one of a kind, aren’t you?”
I was hyper-aware of every place we touched, of his warm breath fanning across my neck. His arms were wrapped firmly around my middle, reeling me in, and when I felt his mouth on my sensitive skin, a shudder ran down the length of my spine.
“If—If you say so.” Dizzy from the overload of pleasure and euphoria, I tried to take another breath, accidentally letting a soft sound slip.
The sound she let out pleased me terribly. I tried not to smile against her skin, but I was failing. I tightened my hold on her, nuzzling her neck.
“I love you,” I said to her softly.
“I love you, too,” I whispered unsteadily, attempting to calm the frantic beating of my heart. “I’m so glad you came back..”
“I hope you remember my oath to you,” I said to her softly, yet sternly. “If I hurt you—if you get hurt by my hands, I will leave.”
“That’s not going to happen,” I answered, my responses growing steadier now that he wasn’t kissing me without mercy. “He’s not going to hurt me.”
“How can you be so sure?” Noticing her replies getting steadier, I decided to be tease and gently nip at her skin.
I sucked in a sharp breath, struggling to regain control of my rapidly slipping composure. “Because. You’re strong. And now you have me to help.”
Kissing the spot I bit lightly, I nuzzled her neck again.
“Thank you, Elle…” I murmured. “But really, what are you going to do about your roommates?”
“They don’t get to dictate my life,” I managed, though I had to start the sentence over this time. “I’ll figure it out…”
I let myseld fall on the bed on my side, pulling her along with me, my hold never loosening.
“Well then, good luck, little fairy,” I murmured. “Are you sleeping here tonight?”
"If you want me to, then I'd like that," I murmured quietly, curling up and shifting backwards until Colton was gently spooning me.
“I’d like that,” I tangled our legs together, closing my eyes, breathing in deeply.
"I'll sleep here every night, if you want me to…" And in truth, I would. Anything to keep him from losing his hold…. "And when I've calmed Andreas and Kaden down, you could move back in…"
“Stay with me,” I whispered rather helplessly. Her being here made me feel safe. It was as if I couldn’t hear the voices in my head. “Yeah, that sounds nice…”
"I'll always stay…. that's a promise." I reached for his hand and pressed it against my stomach, inhaling deeply. "Always."
“Thank you,” I mumbled, tightening my hold on her. “For everything, Elle…”
"No, thank you, Colton," I murmured, turning my head to nuzzle him. "You're the amazing one here. The strong one. The…." Better one.
I scoffed.
“You would have been, too, had their been no restrictions,” I wanted to kiss her again, but held myself back. “You are far more of a human than I could ever be. You stand by my side even with the dangers. You’re perfect.”
"Far more of a human? Colton, you're just as human as I am. The monster isn't you, you're a completely different person. Alright?" I turned to face him and pressed a kiss to his nose. "And I'm far from perfect."
No matter how many times she said it, the way I viewed myself didn’t change. To myself, I was still a monster. But I decided not to voice out my thoughts. Instead, I lightly pressed our lips together for a short, gentle kiss.
“You have imperfections and you have flaws,” I agreed, nodding when I pulled away. “But those imperfections and flaws are what makes you perfect.”
I gave a soft smile and bumped my nose against his; a gesture of affection. "In that case, love, the same applies to you. Alright?"
I smiled, gently caressing her cheek.
“Okay,” I murmured. “If you say so, Elle.”
"I do say so."
I leaned into his touch, not bothering to smother the ridiculously goofy grin that had overtaken my lips.
“You have a beautiful smile,” I told her absently as I traced her lips, my voice quiet. “I hope I can preserve it forever.”
I wrapped my hand around his wrist and kissed each of his fingertips, my smile only widening. "As long as you're here, it will be, too."
“Then I’ll work hard to keep him back, my beautiful… girlfriend?” I furrowed my eyebrows, having confessed my feelings but not having asked her out. “Are you? My girlfriend?”
