He chuckled with his mouthful of food, words garbled through the sanwhich. "Okfay. I relent," he smiled.

"Mhm." she finished her sandwich.

"So you don't have room for snother human?"

"In my house?" she shifted in her seat, "It has a lot of rooms, I just…I'm not ready for one of them to be occupied again."

"What about a dog..?" He grinned.

Marya snorted, "You can't spend your days as a dog forever. And you're not allowed to go into my room."

He shrugged, "You're crazy!" He teased.

"Maybe I am." she flipped her hair back, "But not as crazy as you."

"Oh." He feigned hurt, "Ouch,"

"Did it hurt that much?"

"Not really." His smile returned, "you come off too literal," he elbowed her playfully.

"Hey!" Marya elbowed back.

"What~?" He snickered.

"It's not nice to elbow people."

"I never learned this" he tilted his head inquisitively, like a dog.

She sighed, "I guess that's what happens when you live with ghosts."

"One of 'em's real nice though!" He grinned dorkishly.

"I bet." Marya grabbed her thermos of hot cocoa and took a sip.

He nosily leaned over, "What's that?"

She whipped her thermos out of reach. "Mine."

"No!" He laughed, "What's in it? I know it's yours. Duh,"

"Hot cocoa." she took another sip.

"Aw damn," he sighed, "I wish I had some…" he indirectly begged.

Marya shook her head, "No way. It's mine. Do you know how many pans I burned trying to follow Bakarne's recipe?" she held the cocoa over her head, "It's the fruit of my labor."

"The chocolate of your labor," he answered cringily.

"Right." she laughed and took another sip.

He sat back in his seat, reclining it as far as it would go.

She glared at him, "Don't recline, it's annoying."

"Why?" A grin swept over his face at her agitation.

"It wastes valuable time." she sighed and reached over to push the seat back up.
